Ok, I am a bit confused about the valour of newly created units. I always thought that for each upgrade of the production building, there is a +1 valour bonus to the units created. I.e. an archer from a Master Bowyer would be +3 valour. However I find that this isn't the case. On the other hand there are other units, I think it was Urban militia, that always get created with either +1 valour or +2 command (which I believe is the same).

Can anyone explain the mechanics behind this?

Well i also have this strange thing in Castille (+1 valour for inquesitors), but my fresh build inquesitors (in castille ofcourse) never have that +1 valour ?!?!?!.
But normally you should only get + valour during a good battle as far as i know..

There is an error in the buildings text file for Spearmakers. 1st level spearmaker gives +1 valour, 2nd level gives +2 valour, third onwards no valour.

Affects all spear troops and for me seems to affect Militia Sergeants too as they are getting +2 valour where I have 2nd level Spearmakers.

On a plus side I seem to get generals frequently with rank 2 when producing MenAtArms or Militia Sergeants, and when producing Vikings don't think I have had more than 1 or 2 produced and I have produced alot of Vikings I can tell you.

Inquisitor Valour is a bug.

Well, my Bowers Guild in Trebizond produces only Valour 1 Trebz. and that is because the province gives that bonus.

That is very anoying...
I hope this will get addressed in th first patch. I will keep this thread at the top, for I know there are others who are wondering about this (just like the 'How do you trade' threads).

Yeah, it's a bug. Currently, many master buildings are useless since they are only supposed to increase valor and do not allow any new units to be built.

Playing as the Byzantines there is not need for many buildings as they have very few late units.

I certainly hope so...
It is very important for the less tech-capable factions, such as the Byzantines or Egyptians.
