It wont run

I've been playing MTW 2 since last december, and there were no problems. Randomly today, I launched the game, and it wouldn't run. From my DVD I can here a *RRRing* sound. It was weird, it just started ranomly. After a while a thing would pop-up saying that I need the insert the DVD - Rom, even though its in it already.

Sounds like a u/s drive to me. Do other games work?

Yup, Company of Heros work, and so does my Sim 2. By I checked the disc and I just discovered that the Disc has been scartched a pretty big scratch, maybe that is the problem. What I find peculiar is that I keep my disc's conditions very well, and I always check my discs, and that big scartch wasnt there before, it seems that my dvd- drive caused the scartch.
