Voted No. 9, although No. 5 is also very good. I just like the epic nature of No. 9, the cavalry charge, the two guys one on one, and the Gaulic Boar in the background, just perfect.

Wow it's really hard to decide this month. I think number 9 will have to take my vote as well....it is a very nice shot.
I also like #6 and #10's look, kinda like a painting....pretty cool.

Thanks guys. It should be at least as big as the others (as it could be), but... eh, if it got here and it's catching votes, it's enough. But is it correct, both morally and in terms of rules, to vote for your own picture? :laugh4:

I just voted for what one I thought was best....I honestly don't feel that mine was the best picture. I don't see anything wrong with voting for your own, if you truly feel it's the best.
If your just voting for your own because it's yours....meh, to each his own I guess.

I think the Bastarnoz shot is Blank's, unless it was an untitled picture submitted by someone named Bastarnoz, and they used the opposite format from every other title and name listed. :dizzy2:

Eight is a perfect composition and gets my vote. Lovely scene and colours, looks like the lines could stretch for miles.

I voted #9, though they're all pretty good. I'll be happy so long as we don't get another phalanx pic.
Had to go with #5...despite the apparent sequoia in the background, those Bastarnoz just look too bad-ass to ignore...and just enough editing to be artistic without being excessive...great job, Blank!

Ya know, my initial reaction was going to be for blank's submission....but that giant tree just irked me for some reason.
Blanks are always amongst the best, so much so that I've come to expect great shots from him.
But it is a nice shot, Thracian Redwoods and all.

#3 for me, but it is an excellent selection of finalists :2thumbsup:
What swung it eventually was the sense of tension, the low sun, the staring eyes through the long grass - it captures that last few seconds before the clash. Good title, too. #8 and #10 made it hard to choose, especially, both very good.
The ones I didn't go for were mostly down to the raw material, rather than the artist. #5 missed out because of a game-engine limitation - close up of faces reveal expressions that are more appropriate to someone reading the newspaper than trying to rip the guts of an enemy out with a falx - there's nothing the artist can do - short of serious editting - to change this, and it tends to burst the atmosphere for me.

this is the 2nd time blank had won. congrats blank! now, for the next competition, i think mines pretty good, but it will probably lose to an edited one. (mine is 100% unedited- only the UI cut out) and this is the 2nd time an edited screen has won.
so i propose that if someone wins a competition, he cant enter a screen next one. this gives other pple a chance. s/t tells me blank will enter another one of his incredibly high-edited screens next competition, and win again, for the 3rd time in a row. i have n/t against winning more than once, but i dont like it whens its one after the other.

While I partially agree, you can't really punish someone for being good with photoshop.
The best resolution to this IMO would be to do a top 5 for two categories, but they already said they won't do that....apparently unedited ones win more than edited ones do, or something like that.

Well what kind of a competition would it be if the winners were banned from entering next time? Then it wouldn't be "let the best man win", it would be "the best get canned and the others can sort it out", hm?

FYI, i have entered screens into these competitions since January and i have only won twice. So the talk about how unedited screens don't win is entirely unfounded. Also, i doubt it's the editing that's winning this - it's more the camera angles - seriously, maybe people want something new instead of those old tired phalanx-line shots? You are very welcome to use the movie cam to get some more original screens... jesus

it works with all mods, since it's built into RTW engine

It is, and it works fine for taking photos. Only the rendering option is broken because of the corrupt 1.5 patch.
voted for #8, with #6 as a close 2nd
both are nice screenshots, worthy of my "EBpics" folder
