Berdiche axeman armor models

I was checking the Teutonic campaign and noticed that berdiche axemen still do not display armor upgrades on the battle map (i.e. the upgraded units look exactly the same as the ones without the upgrades - in short, no face masks). I tried changing their armour_ug_models entry in the EDU, but it didn't work again - it didn't work in the vanilla either when I was trying before. So, my question is, has anybody managed to get those upgrades to work? And if so, could you direct me to instructions/download links to get it to work?
