Hey,

Anyone think making a .Org clan for 1 or more games (besides cybernations and that,if you call it that)would be good? I would liek the idea, but what you guys think?

I proposed the same idea to froggie some time ago for a subforum for Orgies to come together and play in multiple games under a single banner, but the answer was that there just isn't enough support from the forum regulars. So while a making clan would be a good thing, don't expect any official actions (stickies, subforums, etc) unless we see an XBOXHEUG turnout.

World in Conflict, Counter Strike Source, Battlefield 2142, Battlefield 2, EVE Online.

Probably some others that have slipped my mind.

Battlefield 2 seems to be the logical choice, since many of us (myself included) play it. It's online only, however, unless you like playing with stupid bots. I'd much rather have a great SP game with a MP element tacked on, than the other way around. Thankfully, BF2 has a huge community and is actually a great game itself. Another perk is that BF2 is old enough to be dirt cheap, and you can pick it up along with its expansions for around 30 USD.

BF2 I say (besides TW). I rather have a good MP element then a SP< because I play MP more, since I have more to show in MP then I would to in SP (beating a real human looks better then beating a stupid bot).

you could play cybernations or something, doesn't require cable or anything. Or You can play VI. I played VI online in fricking 4v4's game just fine. Laggy Yes, but it was playable :-).

Yes, you don't have to pay to play BF2 online on the PC.

With the exception of the big MMORPG's (World of Warcraft, EVE online) there aren't any PC games you have to pay to play with online.

Red Orchestra (likewise, though I can play it now, it's just a bit slow)
America's Army (Punkbuster doesn't like my current computer anymore, so I'll have to wait until the new one for that as well)

There's just one problem: My dorm's internet connection firewalls certain connections, specifically the inbound ports required to log in on certain multiplayer games (such as BF2 and NWN). I'm thinking of moving back to my apartment so I don't have to deal with this DESU anymore.

Yea, I had the same ploblem with my Firewall, I just shut it off. But I presume you can't shut down the Dorm firewall ofc. Vista is also a SOB with games to i hear.

That is correct.

Yes, GW doesn't have a monthly fee, but be aware that each of the four GW campaigns costs $30-50. People who want to play PvE together need to have access to the same campaigns.

There are a couple of older threads about GW, but I guess it could all be summed up like this: GW is an action RPG, if you like the skills/combat system you'll like the game. I may still have a trial key or two somewhere if you'd like to give it a try.

I don't know how much the client needs to load stuff these days, but it shouldn't take too long to get into the game, and after that it keeps loading in the background while you play.

I did till it killed my heat panal thingy, instead getting a new one of those I'll just get another pc when I can, now my CPU usage is higher than normal which sucks, I would of joined a .org clan for BF2 to hell to hel and the very **** hole counter strike wall hackers are created... if my pc didnt die like that, any way to fix this cheap :grin: .

The PC keeps over heating and instantly shutting the PC down.

A cheap easy temporary solution is opening up the side of the case and using a little box fan to blow into it to help cool it down. That's what I'm doing until I can get a new PC.
