View Full Version : Query - Is it the CPU or GPU that allows you to increase the unit scale?
Higher units on the battlefield are affected by the processor and not the graphics card, right?
I have a 1950XT 256mb and a E6300 running at 2.8 (400*7). I game at 1680 x 1050.
Will I be able to have huge battles with full reinforcement armies on the huge scale?

I really wish there was an override for this sort of thing because I know by computer can handle 4 armies despite what the game thinks....
Anyway, my specs are a higher than that at Geforce 8800GTS 320 and 6400 @ 2.4 ghz but the game won't allow more than two full stacks on the battle map:(.
There's a way to override that. Search around...
How's the game run with 2 full stacks in the game?

It would depends on your settings I guess.
IMO, I don't think the battle will be too smooth with your comp with perfect or high settings simply because although M2TW is almost a year old now, running at such a high resolution with a comp thats not the most up to date will be a problem
I run it with all medium except for buildings (which is set to low).
AA off and bilinear filtering.

open your "medieval2.preference.cfg" and set:
unlimited_men_on_battlefield = 1
and all reinforcements will enter battle immediately.
but the battle might get sluggish if your computer can't handle it.

THANKS!!!!!!
@ 1280 x 1024, I've played up to about 4 stacks vs 1 stack(everyone vs England on the Britannia Campaign with maxxed settings) without too much lag. M2TW seems to have improved features(resulting in less frameskip) that help the smoothness of the game.
