I'm sure all of the beta testers are laughing at us along with the team members.

Ya know, ever since the beta testers started testing, I haven't heard too much from them....must be a really good game. :laugh4:

On another note, you guys suck donkey balls. I want to play. I'm beta testing EB2. Oh yes, that's right....I'll force my way in that beyatch and steal the master copy.

Mwahahwahahwhahhwha!!! :dizzy2:

I got an idea how we can play eb 1.0, who knows how to build a timemachine than we can go and bring it back with us. and share it with the rest of the fans here.

I'd prefer if you went and got EB2 and EB3 instead, really.

Aaaa, EB3 = Empires engine....should be interesting, and I hope it works. Although, they will probaby have melee units in that game, so I don't foresee problems with the engine.

I've heard many in the .org community say it is going to be hard to create an ancient mod on that engine, but I fail to understand why.

Some scientist figured it out in principle, but he could only send photons (light) back.

It involved four high power lasers used to create a square....they do something to the space/time in the square or something. They run it on the Science Channel every so often, and the dude's name escapes me now, but he's on all kinds of discovery programs, history channels universe, etc. so you would probably know him if you watch those channels.

EDIT: I should also probably mention that he could only send stuff as far back as when he turned on the machine, and it didn't go forward, only backward.

He also couldn't send matter. He said that the amounts of energy required to move an atom would likely annihilate the atom in the process or something like that. :2thumbsup:

Meh. Unless 1.0 actually comes out tonight or something I'll be merrily playing good ole 0.81v2 tonight as well once I'm through drooling over all those new units listed on the site, which are - as usual - seven different kinds of awesome.

It was me trying to make fun of the EB team, updating the download section, but giving no links. :laugh4:

I could too, it would just suck because of all of these teasers they keep putting out.

I was fine until the team started stirring up all of this insanity with their sneak peeks for weeks....hmmm, that rhymed. :2thumbsup:

I've heard of that too. What we need to do is build a machine that can detect and receive these photons so that when the technology is perfected and we can send messages back (in the form of intermitent code like Morse Code or some form of binary) there will be someone waiting to receive them.

@MAA

Yes, as soon as they build it and turn it on, they would begin to recieve photons sent from the future. The only problem is that it may be difficult to decipher, and I'm uncertain he can send more than one photon.

Pretty mind blowing s***, really....that's why I love it. :2thumbsup:

EDIT: Sometimes I forget there are 13 year olds on these boards....censor edit. :2thumbsup:

Perhaps I shall try to refrain from profanities in the future, for the sake of young eyes.

Even if we did that, we would still have to finish everything so we could send the information back to us.

The Celt
10-11-2007, 22:29
Even so. If this is legit, then why hasn't any sort of message come back from the future by now? Yah know, some strange piece of paper or Email or whatever that wasn't there before. So how can we know that this will really develop that far?:dizzy2:

Bootsiuv
10-11-2007, 22:35
It hasn't been built yet. It's simply a theory, based mostly on mathematics IIRC.

The math works. I wish I could remember his name...he's well known, at least in america.

We haven't gotten a message from the future yet because we aren't listening for a message from the future. And at some point it may be possible to send back multiple photons that could then be received in some sort of code. We don't have to have the ability to send photons through time, we just need to have a listening post set up and some sort of code that we agree to use when we do get the ability to send multiple photons back in time.

I would amagine once the listening machine is turned on, it will immediately receive a message.

And as far as EB goes, it may have never been made. If we receive a message from the future, with the data for EB3, all we have to do is send the same data back in time when we get to the future. In a way, the data will be self generating and not have a source. Of course that may destroy the entire universe, but isn't EB3 worth risking that? :clown:

That's why I said it was mindblowing.

Sort of like the time slow down related to speed in special relativity.
