I have a very quick question, does the EB 1.0 have the 1st cohorts? I checked the updates thing and it only mentioned 2 old Roman units. Thxs

We were still deciding on whether we should spend the unit slot on them or not when the deadline for 1.0 came up. We might do an optional add-on, so stay tuned to the fora.

Probably, but there were other things that had a higher priority. Wait until our next release for more Roman material.

Well hey, youve got tons of new Roman contant in 1.0-- Gentes, Governorships, a ton of traits and ancilliaries, re-skinned imperial cohorts and veterans cohorts, etc.
in 1.x you'll get your First Cohorts and maybe something else I have up my toga.. Mwa-hah-hah-hah...

I feel a bit let down...ver. 1.0 and I still have to download an unofficial mod (1st cohort/watchman) to get the legionary 1st cohorts with the eagle standards. :(
Like I said, we're still debating and an optional add-on is the best option. Remember: Rome ain't the only faction in the game.

Ah, but that doesn't mean it isn't my favorite. Still, it will be healthy to branch out a bit and get more experience with other factions. Maybe I'll take Pontus or Epeiros for a spin.

Jeez guys.. one unit doesnt make or break the Roman faction. I'd hate for you to miss out all the Roman awesomeness in 1.0 just for having an first cohort you can recruit.

Still, being able to lead and capture first eagle standards in battle was awesome XD...I was chasing barbarian armies around Europe when they stole my standards. :)

Epeiros ftw. You guys gave them Hyspastistai and Pherasipdai (sp) woo. Though are there Thorakitai and Therouphoroi normal rather than Illryian now? I havent got EB 1.0 yet.

Indeeed, Epeiros has got pheraspidai and hypaspistai now. Illyrian Thorakitai and thureophoroi are just plain Thorakitai and thureophoroi now, if only to differentiate with the new Illyrian regional units of Illyrioi thureophoroi and Illyrioi Paraktioi, both of which are a great fun to play with...
One minor hint... Conquer Syracuse.. :yes:
Ooh, so we can get the new Syracusan hoplites?

I don't see the first cohort as a big deal. To me they're just an extra big unit of regular legionaries with a gold eagle. Yeah I think it'd be nice but it doesn't affect my enjoyment of the romans.
