The upgrade is not savegame compatible, by far.

I have no idea what you're talking about. Please try to reword your question.

Have the Bartix actually replaced the Romani in your version?

It's probably a corrupt download.

The error message references the oliphaunt ("yubtseb" cheat elephants) which are definitely not part of the initial setup, which is why I thought you were loading a savegame. You can delete their entry in EDU and see if it helps. Then using the cheat will cause a CTD however.

strange, have never used this cheat and as said deleted eb 0.81 and install it fresh and except eb 1.0 install only ForceDiplm. Mod and EB_For_BI from here.

PS: helps not much, now the same error message for the next armoured bush elephant, i delete this whole shit, install it again and look how its work.

Which method did you use to get EB working with BI?

ok now i have installed vanilla rome, patched it to 1.5, restart the comp and installed eb (atm not try to install bi).

for the second time as soon i try to start a campaigne it crashes, bevore installing eb 1.0 it has worked, file size is 668.099.207 Bytes so it should be ok.

cannot see what the problem is, use Win Vista

RTW + BI + RTW 1.6 + EB 1.0 + EB for BI Installer (w/enable shield wall unchecked)

Are you talking about using the Custom Battles? That when you select the Romani faction you don't see most of the Romani units?

RTW + BI + RTW 1.6 + EB 1.0 + EB for BI Installer (w/enable shield wall unchecked)

for first post: the only error message is the common Win Vista Error Message: Rome Total War work no more blabla, will be closed etc. nothing special.
it happens to custom battles, historical and campaignes but if i start Vanilla RTW 1.5 if works fine, even start a Campaigne as Bruti without any problems.

for second
this time i have left bi out since have had this problem last installation with bi so this time
RTW+Patch 1.2+1.3+1.5+EB 1.0 but same problem as with bi 1.6

Seems like your having the same problem as me.
I've also deleted every trace of 0.8 EB as well as my old RTW install. Reinstalled both RTW and BI, then copied that and renamed it EB, then installed EB 1.0. After that I clicked on the shortcut and waited through the first screen, then, when I got to the menu, I clicked on single player, selected "EB main Campaign" selected a faction, and got an immediate CTD.:furious3:

exactly the same her....vanilla rtw works fine , eb 1.0 ends in crash with and without bi....problem is clearly eb 1.0 (as ever :furious3: a neverending story of crashes, ctd´s etc)

Okey I think I figured it out. Turns out you need to install 1.6 patch even with BI. Just enter "RTW 1.6" in Google and find a link to the patch. Download that, install the patch, then, if you've got EB in a separate copy of your original RTW install, click on the BI .exe and RTW .exe and copy/paste them over the ones in the EB install folder.(AKA the RTW folder you copied from the original to install EB in, NOT the EB mod folder inside of that!!) Thats how I solved my issue give that a shot Schatten!:2thumbsup:

i have make it so, copied clear RTW+BI 1.6 than installed EB 1.0 in the original order than used the installer for eb bi (with unchecked shieldwall box)
tested again...eb campaign, historical,custom=crash...copied the original RTW and BI.exe over the ones in eb ordner...and crash again!

since RTW and BI work still correct and without any problems and all in eb (campaign, historical, custom) ends in crash its clearly a bug in eb

i give now up after 3 days of install and deinstall i have enough of this bug-crash shiet, to bad i have deleted 0.81 it has crashed from time to time but at last it has work, eb 1.0 simply dont work whatever the reason is.

PS: in custom battles screen i see no roman army types too only regional troops...one bug more...

I think you're talking about custom battles not showing roman units. Look at this thread to see the answer (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=93155) to that.

Have you tried to play it through the RTW.exe "prior to the bi installer"? EB is designed for RTW not bi, it is possible to play it through bi, but it is a bit different to 0.8x because of some file changes from the RTW/data folder to the mod folder.

They are no romans units????

Why????

I have:
RTW 1.5
EB 1.0

EB has many different Units (more than 400), many of them are regionals, that can be recruited by more than one faction.

To solve this problem we have mad an additional edu (export_descr_units.txt, the file where all unit stats and faction ownershipd are stored) for costuma nd multiplayer games. You need to replace your normal edu (in the eb/data fodler) with the specialised costum edu (make a backup of the normal edu first!!!). If you now start the game all factions ahev only all their factional and some selected regional units availabel in costum battel and mp.

You will find the costum mp edu in the folder "your RTW directory/eb/mp custom game edu"

A question to those trying to install, are you using the CD or DVD version of the game? For those who got it working and have read this topic, what did you use?

i have try to play with bi 1.6 and without, so with RTW 1.5 and EB 1.0 installation only, without BI, it was always the same thing...RTW 1.5 work, EB crash as soon you try to start any campaign.
Same thing with BI upgrade....BI 1.6 works but EB 1.0 crashes

It was everytime a fresh installation after deleting the old, helps nothing

I run RTR and another 4 mods of which EB 081V2 ran fine on a B1 installation. So I downloaded the full instal of the latest mod using Filefront which seemed OK and using RAR installed the files but no installation programme marked exe. came up and no logos with which to start the game either.

My first question is does the new mod run with BI? The second, why no installation exe?

Rechts neben "Ziel" muss stehen: dein Rome Ordner\RomeTW-BI.exe" -mod:eb -show_err -nm

Dann folgendes: Du gehst dahin: dein Rome Ordner\EB\Dataworld\maps\campaign

barbarian_invasion_regions_and_settlement_names.txt ohne Leerzeichen bidde

Jetzt erst darfst du das Spiel zum ersten Mal starten. Hast du es vorher gemacht, fang von vorne an :smash:

Viel Glück und viel Spaß mit EB :juggle2:

I reinstalled RTW from scratch, patched it up to 1.3 then 1.5, it shows 1.5 when i load RTW, but when I load EB1.0 it loads the eb screen and then gives me an beep and shows protection error. From that moment on the screen freezes and i have to ctrl alt del in order to regain use of my pc. The EB i installed directly on the root of the clean RTW installation. My PC is an amd 3800+ dual core 1 gb ram ati radeon 256 mb integrated graphic card.:help: :wall:

Hi,
can you explain me what for Validation Program?

i have try since now 4 days to run eb 1.0 with rtw 1.5only, than with bi 1.6 and it was everytime the same crash as soon you try to start a campaign (or custom, historical) with and without bi, no change.

for same time rtw 1.5 and if installed bi 1.6 works correct even if eb 1.0 is alredy installed.

so can ypu pls explain me the validation program?

thx

The validation program will compare all your installed files with those I have in my functioning install. It will output any change: added, changed or missing files. The results may help to understand why it fails to load.

an ritterlichvon86...done as you have posted step by step and at end the usual crash.....

no way as it looks, i look now for those validation prog.

I have now try those Validation Prog. but it runs only for few seconds and create after all a 0 byte .txt with nothing inside.

i have make a screen of it

btw is this possible that you eb 1.0 is simply not win vista compatible?.....looks really so

Sorry, my German is too weak to write it. You need to unpack the zip file into the RTW directory, without creating the Validation folder.

Another way to go about it would be: Move the files under Validation to directly under the RTW folder.

nevermind, problem solved, it was exactly the same problem from the thread of maximus, the missing map.raw in eb/data/world/map/base.

i have downloadet it from the link in his thread, installed and now all works fine...for the moment :sweatdrop: :laugh4:
