1. Samniti should speak Oscan instead of Latin. That would more flavour and realism to the game. What do you say about it?

And I have a question regarding Pontic Kleurochoi Phalangitai: did Pontos use a majority of Hellenes in the Kleurochoi or did the Pontic king save them for higher administrative duties or to serve in the Chalkaspidai? Thus the land grants would be given to natives instead.

Do you know Oscan of the 3rd century BCE? If you do, the team might be open to ideas, although I'm not sure it's that big of a deal.

Pontic access to the klerouchoi phalangitai reflects the willingness of former katoikoi to serve in Pontic armies in the 1st c BC. They're the thousands of predominantly but not exclusively Hellenic katoikoi from the Seleukid and Ptolemaic establishments from earlier in the Hellenistic period. Most of the soldiers in those areas were perfectly willing to switch allegiances to other rulers so long as they maintained their lands and rights in their own towns.

I say that if that is accurate (I'm no historian so I have no idea), it is highly unlikely we would be able to do a full Oscan voicemod for a single unit in the game.

The closest you could get IMO, is a unit name change. What would their unit have been called in Oscan?

I guess Oscan is known enough to have at least some voices, or an unit name.

Here (http://www.wordgumbo.com/ie/cmp/osca.htm)is an Oscan vocabulary on the web. Legions would be writen "leiguss" or something like that. Samnites called themselves "Safinim", so a good name for "Samniti Milites" would be "Safinim leigus"... I'll do some further research, but what do you think?

That is possible on a technical level and would not be too much trouble to do - bearing in mind, of course, that the historians sign off on it and can fact check.

Well, any further word on that? I've conducted some research on Oscan, but I think we can change the names quickly for the next EB release. It's cool, and realistic.
