Now that EB 1.0 is here what do I do? How do I go about deleting my old EB version? Do I need to delete R:TW and install it again? Or just the old EB version?
uninstall RTW, delete the activision folder, restart, install RTW, install patch 1.3, install patch 1.5, install EB.

Sorted. Cheers friend.
I'm going to the pub now, I think I'll leave it downloading while I'm there.
Can't wait!!

uninstall RTW, delete the activision folder, restart, install RTW, install patch 1.3, install patch 1.5, install EB.
Of the patches, I think you only need to install the latest patch and not 1.3. If I am wrong, please tell me. Patches should be cumlative and therefore 1.5 has 1.3 already included. And if you install BI, you just need patch 1.6 and none of the previous patches.
Therefore:
uninstall RTW, delete the activision folder, restart, install RTW, install patch 1.5, install EB 1.0
or
uninstall RTW, delete the activision folder, restart, install RTW, install Barbarian Invasion, install patch 1.6, install EB 1.0, install BI-EB launch exe.
Unfortunatly Pied Piper, and in the nicest way possible, you are wrong. You need to patch to 1.3, and then to 1.5. And 1.4 then 1.6 for BI.

I'm not so certain, Admetos. The way I did it was this:
Install RTW 1.0 (from CD)
Install RTW 1.2 (patch)
Install RTW 1.5 (patch)
Then, install EB.
That wouldn't work. 1.3 was the one that held the big changes, coming with the release of BI and definately needs to be installed unless you have BI (in which case it doesn't).
If you notice, 1.5 is tiny whereas 1.3 is massive. Unless compression rates went up massively, 1.5 does not contain 1.3 also.

Ah, I stand corrected. Thank you for pointing out the errors of my ways Admetos. Although I have had no problems playing with the patch order, I guess I will uninstall/reinstall everything yet again.
I wonder why it is not cumlative then? And I wonder what the difference is as I have not had any problems and been playing with this format with previous EB versions too. But I am glad to know now there is a difference. Thanks again.

That must be the reason I didn't have any problems. I always installed BI too and then patch 1.6. I have never played EB without BI installed. Maybe I don't have to uninstall/reinstall again. YEA! :2thumbsup:
No, you'll still need to reinstall. But you won't need to download and install the 1.3 patch, as it is contained in BI.

Foot, I need to reinstall after I have done this?
Uninstalled and deleted everything last night after I DL'd EB 1.0.
Reinstalled RTW
Reinstalled BI
Installed patch 1.6 (then copied folder to make a vanilla version of game)
Installed EB 1.0
Installed BI-EB launch exe
This is what I have and everything seems fine. Why would I need to reinstall again? :inquisitive: Or am I just missing something?
No, I thought you were referring to something else. Stop confusing me! I'm tired.
Off to workski.

The game will break in new and uninteresting ways, most likely resulting in CTDs or complete havoc to your campaign.

The sky would fall crashing into the earth causing mass hysteria amongst the nations of the world who would then panic and declare war upon one another leading to the newest Total War series... :skull:
To avoid the mass destruction of the world by universal mega volcanic eruptions, planatary collisions, alien invasions, and Noah's Flood... :help: just uninstall, delete, and reinstall so you have a clean game to play with.

On a more serious note. What simply happens is that you can't start a campaign as you can't select it from the menu. When you click on "EB campaign" it'll just say "please select an item from the list" and no, the provincial campaign option will not be shown.
