Note that this is a mod for American Conquest: Fight Back (google it if you haven't heard of it, it costs around $10). Though it is a mod and not a full game, it is an amazing total conversion.

This is the final Multiplayer version. Thus meaning that it does not have singleplayer.

Notes:

So get ready for ultimate Napoleonic expirience on American Conqest:
-Fixed bugs from AC-FB: pathfinding and many other minor bugs
-Dead bodies no longer fade away immediately, they stay on the field for roughly 20-30 minutes before dissappearing
-over 160 new units
-dozens of new buildings
-9 nations which took the biggest part in the combat of the period
-new troops types: from general which boosts morale, to engineers which erect defensive structures.
-Six new artillery types: from man pushed heavy 12 pounders to 6" horse pulled howitzers.
-Different formations give different bonuses from attack and defense bonuses to penalties for moving.
(example infantry column formations moves at a normal speed, but a line formation moves only at 3/4 of the normal speed)
-And many new features...

NOTE:

For those who have russian version of AC-FB will need to download this patch (it will replace the dmcr.exe from the already installed final version of EW:N):

EW:N gives massive battles, with up to 14,000 soldiers in beautiful, colorful and historically accurate uniforms - slugging it out across a wide variety of landscapes, with volleys of musketry, chaotic cavalry charges, thundering artillery bombardments and brutal bayonet melees.

The battles play out like epic movies. The gameplay is very engaging and fun, while the battles still look and feel realistic. The musket-firing can go on for a while before the soldiers start to lose heart and run away, unlike Cossacks II for instance, where whoever fires the first volley wins the day. Cannonballs sometimes bounce through the armies, tearing down piles of men, and other times fly harmlessly overhead, occasionally to crash randomly into the unlucky man behind the lines. Overall, I thoroughly enjoy playing these battles.

You might want to have a look at the Take Command mods if this is your sort of game. They seem to have solved the squares issue for that program.

Also I've heard the Histwars has just called for beta testers which would be a similar sort of game.

Cheers,
