Ah, so that priest was you, Waldinger?
In the courtyard, yes that was me.

I wasn't told your name in the PM, but you can tag along now

A question, FactionHeir? You know that three or four NPC guards have died now. When they die, are they replaced with new guards or is there a fixed number of guards and iff they all die, there would be no one left to patrol the halls? Is that they reason why you and Zain were patrolling the halls last night? Just another question from a worried townie.

Worried Townie who is scared of dying if he is protecting someone.
That someone is you Beefy, since you are now one of the most important townies in the game. I guess you're not scared of being mislynched as a mafia member anymore.:laugh4:

shlin28

Maybe Beefy is corrupted priest...
:clown:

Anyway, I/Craterus will protect you Beefy too!

Ayachuco
10-27-2007, 16:52
Everyone knows that the Friars are the real corrupted followers of the cloth.
If Beefy was a Friar, I would leave him to die since his only ability is to get men drunk and persuade them to give him a few pieces of gold for charity.

Shlin/Craterus, perhaps we should form a bodyguard unit called the Bovines or maybe we could be the unofficial bodyguards of Beefy like how Omanes has Zain and FactionHeir to protect him. We could set up a room in the Guest Quarters for Beefy and we take turns watching his door. And we will follow him everywhere; don't know how that would work with the night orders.

Caius

Now, I want to know why I'm a suspect.

How can I know Beefy is a priest and not a killer? Because I dont see that post...

I may not be FactionHeir, but I'm his significant other in this game. heh...

It's a very realistic game, so the thought of unlimited guards doesn't match that scenario of "realistic". That's why we were patrolling last night, because we moved all the NPC's from one patrolling path to another and we took the vacant one.

Ephrum is NOT to be touched under any circumstances, according to FactionHeir, as he is under our protection. If he is lynched, we will be forced to undergo our own lynches for everyone who had a hand in voting him.

(Kind of reminds me of the movie Young Guns, when he was talking to the lawyer and they were talking about how Billy the Kid and his gang were going around killing all the people that killed their leader (John Tunstill). Then Billy mentions to the Lawyer, "Alex (Which is the lawyer), if you stay they're gonna kill you. And then I'm gonna have to to go around and kill all the guys who killed you. That's a lot of killing." I don't know, just reminded me of that...)

He forwarded Killfr3nzy's role PM to us and it's believable enough. Plus, if he double crosses us he will be killed on sight. :beam:

But for now, whoever still has a vote on him must unvote him immediately and use your vote on someone else, or suffer the consequences.

Tiberius of the Drake
10-27-2007, 17:36
As I said before, I voted for shlin to be lynched with the understanding that he was controlling Craterus's charcter thus in a sense it is a vote for Craterus. And now that their both controlling the character, why am i wrong for voting for shlin? And i am suspicious of the Shlin/Craterus team because they were in the medical wing in the first place,Sarathos is dead, another burned and their is no absolute proof that Sarathos was the one who was trhowing fire.

so my vote stands.

Craterus
10-27-2007, 17:50
Draconian was there also, he can vouch for me and shlin.

Sarathos is dead because, as I understand it (but I can't be 100% sure), he started a firefight in the medical wing. My PM says something along the lines of "you arrive in the medical wing and find that it's a warzone". I don't think I'm allowed to quote so you'll have to take my word for it.

Key point: Draconian was there and Sarathos was attacking both of us.

Tiberius of the Drake

I really hope this is a big misunderstanding on your part Tiberiusor you really are scummy.
Since I can't quote my pm, I just tell what happened to the best I can.
I was doing a stakeout in the medical wing to see if anyone would take advantage of Beefy's unconsciousness for an easy kill. Anyone who would do that would be pretty scummy, scummy enough to be a mafioso. A guard was making his round in the wing when suddenly a mage shoots a fireball at the guard and kills him. I responded by shooting my crossbow at the mage which resulted in a glancing blow in his side. It really wasn't a warzone b/c I was losing and was using a bed as cover for the fireballs. That's where Shlin/Craterus comes in. He attacks the mage and distracts him from attacking me. Shlin is immobilized by a frozen shield and the mage is about to kill him with a fireball. I rushed over and stab the mage from behind with my sword and thus kill him. The only person who was dead was Sarathos so that would mean he was the fireball using mage I encountered. I still don't know where BSR comes in perhaps he was on the bed that I was using for cover and got burnt or maybe there was a previous engagement with Sarathos that left him injured before Sarathos made it to the Medical Wing.
I just noticed you changing your vote Tiberius, I hope this clears up this mess. For now, Unvote:Vote:Abstain I still have aFoS on you Tiberius, so don't think I trust you fully.

As much as I dislike the fact that voting went on so long, I was unable to get the internet and officialy end it and so will have to let it stand. Therefore, the vote-count stands as follows;

Vote Count;
Tiberius - 3 (Kommo, Beefy, Craterus)
Ephrum - 1 (Amazing)
Waldinger - 1 (Andres)
Cimmerian - 1 (Waldinger)
Draconian - 1 (Ephrum)
Abstain - 1 (Drac)

Tiberius has been lynched, Night phase has begun.
BSR is WoG'd for breaking the rules; NO private reveals.

Write-Up to follow.

Tiberius of the Drake
10-28-2007, 00:29
Beefy that was not my intention. I apologize. If you so wish I will stand guard over you tonight. The only reason i voted fro them is because i was suspicious of the protectors intentions. I thought that someone might have tried to finsih you but simply ran into trouble and played rescuer. I was mistaken and I have made that clear. And I already made my alibi clear a few posts ago.

The man known as Tiberius sagged as his name was called out, leaning on his metal stave to support his weight. Only three people wanted him dead, but with everyone else who cared to vote squabbling amongst themselves, that was enough. An elite began to head through the crowd towards him, drawing a shortsword as he went. No need for more force against one who had so obviously accepted his fate.
Suddenly, the blue-robed man straightened to his full height and thrust his stave forward while yelling a word of power, a ball of fire flying towards Craterus with a rushing roar. Taken by surprise, the red-cloaked man was hit in his breastplate, slammed to the ground and sliding along his back for several feet before coming to a rest. Tiberius let out a cry of victory and sent a quick trio of fireballs at the fallen man, the rest of the Hall momentarily stunned into inaction.
Craterus moved with incredible speed, sitting partially upright to unsling the shield from across his back and bringing it up into guard position without a moment to spare. The first attack washed over the rim of the shield and singed his armour, leaving the face of it cracked and molten. The second proved too much for the battered shield, shattering it and flinging debris and flame at Craterus, while the third impacted harmlessly on a golden shield of light.
Spitting curses, Tiberius flew at the two brown-robed men just then pushing their way through to the front of the crowd, flinging fire and drawing a long-knife from under his robes. Waldinger and Ephrum stumbled backwards, each chanting holy words and raising shields to block the attacks, but then Tiberius was among them. Waldinger was hit across the temple with the stave, but Ephrum’s jugular was parted, spurting blood as he collapsed. Spinning to continue his rampage, Tiberius was confronted by a snarlingCraterus, longsword flashing and ripping the stave out of his hand.
In a blur of successive blows which most of the assorted crowd could not follow, Tiberius was laid low, knife dropping from nerveless fingers as he fell, held up only by Craterus’ hand around his wrist and sword through his heart. Craterus grunted and tugged his sword free, Tiberius’ head lolling on his half-decapitated neck as he was unceremoniously dumped to the ground.
Every eye in the Hall watched Craterus as he cut the straps holding his breastplate with the dead man’s blade, letting the plate of dully glowing steel clatter to the ground.
Panting slightly, tendrils of smoke rising from his once-fine armour, blood still dripping from his sword and shield-hand flexing constantly to keep his hand limber, Craterus stared right back at them.
“I really don’t like mages.”

Words cannot express how angry I am right now. Why are private reveals illegal in the first place!? He wanted to join us, I didn't believe his innocence, so he provided me with evidence of it! What's wrong with that!?

I didn't even know (or remember, I'm sure I read it) that it was against the rules, and apprently Ephrum didn't know at all.

My anger resides... However I still lie loyal to the King...

General Rules
Roles
No quoting roles, no screenshots at all (not even of loooongcat), all reveals must be public but dark hints at roles is accepted and even encouraged.

Cant blame the hosts.. Their rule clearly states that roles must be revealed in public (unless they secretly edited it)

Last time I checked they said I am allowed to revea roles as long as I dont give them my Role pm
(ill have to convince the person then)

but any how sending others role pm is illegal in most of the games because it takes the fun out of it
(its quite hard to forge the role pm)

unlucky Ephrum..

"In here sir". Arathua stopped in his tracks when he saw the carnage in the medical wing. BSR, Beefy and Waldinger were all dead, dead with their throats torn out and drained of blood. BSR was still in his bed, Beefy propped up in a chair facing him while Waldinger sat on the floor, upper body leaning against a bed in the next row. Cimmerians bed was empty, the mattress, sheets and wooden bed all slashed repeatedly with some kind of knives or talons, soaked in gore, a trail blood leading to the door as if something had been dragged from the bed and taken away. Scrawled on the wall above the bed in dark crimson was a message; "No one escapes me".
A guard ran up to Arathua "Sir, Garcilaso has just been found in the guest quarters with his arm cut off at the elbow and sliced open from sternum to groin". Arathua closed his eyes Four dead and One missing, could this day get much worse? "Only with a massacre in the hall" he muttered to himself and began walking toward it.

Obviously you're a tougher fighter than me, but think: if I was a daemon-worshipper, don't you think I could've bested you in a one-on-one fight, especially since I had the element of surprise?

And now I have some questions for you.

I'm finding myself in an ever shrinking pool of people who can't verify their innocence. So, if there's something Zain, Omanes, and FactionHeir need done to night that can help me out, I gladly volunteer.

Don't leave your room tonight. Don't get involved in quarrels.

1. Why didn't you do what Zain asked of you? Our fight happened in the courtyard. My night orders were to go there and attack anyone from my list of suspects that I happened to find. Also, Beefy had suggested something as well:

I got an idea..

All the confirmed innocent players can stay in the guest quarters.
All the players who claims to be innocent can stand out side the door and guard.

How that?

You seemed to agree to this, but you obviously didn't do it either.

2. What was in that sack you were carrying at the beginning of the fight?

3. What was your business with Draconian? (This question is for him as well.) He claims he was in the guest quarters giving his shield to Craterus, and that he planned to go to the medical wing afterwards. This all may be true, but it's not all he had on his agenda during the night. I wonder why he didn't mention his little tete-a-tete with you. :inquisitive:

Wait a minute here, something isn't right.
Kommodus, your fight with Amazing took place in the courtyard???
I didn't mention my stroll with Amazing b/c nothing significant happened. I was going to the courtyard using the main central corridor to investigate a tree. Amazing happened to be walking down the central corridor before he turned down the corridor that leads to the Pit or the Asassin Chute. I thought he was going to meet with FactionHeir and a couple of guards who were patrolling down that corridor. I continued into the courtyard and found nothing at the tree. The Tree caught my eye in Night 1 whenever I was passing by it and thought I saw bodies in it. Unless somebody had already cleaned up their mess in Night 2 when I was watching over Beefy, I must have been hallucinating. I was supposed to exchange my shield with Craterus in the Medical Wing but Killfrenzy decided it was better to have it occur in the Guest Quarters and hence I heard the attack on Garcilaso.

Now I have suspicions about the Amazing Me. If he was fighting you Kommodus, that would mean he went down the Asassin/Pit corridor for an insidious errand and then backtracked and met you in the Courtyard. Now what if he was going down that corridor to send a gold offering for the Master Assasin. That would mean during the next night phase, someone will probably killed. The only question is who does he plan to kill.

Yep, I'd definitely say TAM has some 'splaining to do. :inquisitive:

Draconian, your post explains why TAM was emerging from the western-most corridor into the courtyard when I saw him, and why he was carrying a small pouch.

Also, it's apparent that TAM has money for good equipment (bastardsword, breastplate, shield), as well as enough to hire the master assassin. Where did you get it all, TAM? Do you have friends who aided you financially? And I repeat the question Draconian asked: who did you hire the master assassin to kill?

Let's have some answers, post-haste.

Hmm, sorry guys. But whatever killed you sounded pretty strong.

Well, i wouldn't say that. Beefy and Waldinger were both priests and I was still recovering from my wounds, so they wouldn't have had to be that strong. I would say they must be good at stealth though, since their were apparently guards stationed at the door.

Craterus

FactionHeir
10-30-2007, 23:00
OK after some analysis, the culprit must either have been very good at stealth and moved from CY to GQ to MW or he must have started at SQ/MW/GQ. There were no guards inside those rooms, so anyone who was inside those during the night is a suspect. Anyone outside probably is innocent unless they are good at stealth.

Craterus

After whacking Kommo, TAM ran towards the eastmost entrance to the guest quarters. He might well have infiltrated the MW from there. The other question is why he didn't notice anything in the MW, being in the GQ. Or is he hiding it?

I think it is safe to remove Tran from the suspect list. Me and him were hiding in the tree on night one and he didn't attack me. On night two, I was praying and he was in the tree.
That was y'all up in the tree near the central entrance??? I knew I wasn't hallucinating, there were bodies in that tree; live ones.

I'm also starting to suspect that some of the mafioso are the lurkers. Although I don't know why Andres would try this tactic and it would explain why the lurkers haven't been WoG'ed yet. They may not discuss in the thread, but they have been issuing night orders. Thus they knew that the priests would be in the MW and issued attack orders. And what about Cimmerian, why would they take him? Or is it a diversionary tactic used to confuse us, townies? But, how many are mafia demons, alas Killfrenzy has made this game very, very interesting by not telling us how many of them exist. So many questions, so many little answers...

I have a question for either Killfrenzy or TwilightBlade.
Whenever the Master Asassin is given a target; will he attack other people if they are near or potential witness of the crime. For example, if someone gave the order to finish off BSR, would the Master Asassin also attack Waldinger and Beefy b/c they were there also or do they have to be separate orders?
If they have to be separate orders, then the person must have a lot of gold.

Which leads to my next question.
Omanes, whenever Shlin was lynched who did you give the gold he had? I'm trying to pinpoint who is behind these murders so I guess I will have to follow the money trail.

FactionHeir
10-31-2007, 00:01
Gold all stayed in the "family".

So any gold spent by others will have been from scouring the place or killing other players at night.

Not sure about the assassin thing, but I think he won't care as he wasn't paid for that.

I have a suspicion that the worshippers can turn others into worshippers for some reason.

Cimmerian
10-31-2007, 00:03
Two guards at the door? Were they killed? If not, surely it would have to be a shapeshifter or something? Or someone who was already in the medical wing?

The only problem with this is that the three ppl who were originally in the MW were:
Beefy - healing bsr
BSR - being healed
and myself - uncounscious on a bed to be healed after bsr.

Firstly, Beefy and BSR are obviously innocent. Whereas, it doesn't make sense that I would happen to kill the only two other medics while being injured without being healed, even I think thats a bit stupid.

It doesn't sound very likely that anything us would get into a fight withourselves, and due to each of our vulnerable condition, its quite possible any weak player could have done this. Nonetheless, you would think they should have some strength considering they managed to drag my body away soemwhere. (what do you want with me, special favours?!)

Is that what happened to Cimmerian??? I feel bad for him, to be subjugated to that, that monstrosity.:shame: I really hope that isn't the case.
So would that means I could also become one of them? That anyone could become one of them? This is not good, not good at all. So much for trust, if they can destroy a person to the core.
FactionHeir, do y'all and the Lord, Omanes need any gold??? I have my share of Garci's gold and have no use for it so y'all can have it if you need it.

Ok, I appreciate I’m under suspicion, looking back at the evidence, probably quite rightfully.
Allow me to explain myself.
First of all, I’ll admit, I’m not actually a townie, I’m a neutral warrior. My objective is simply to stay alive, I’ve been generally helping the townspeople however (though kinda timidly).
Anyway, that brings me to my next bit, last night, I did actually guarded the guest quarters like Beefy said, unfortunately, I wasn’t sure that was what I was meant to be doing, as people really weren’t that clear about it. At any rate, it seemed fairly obvious that very few other people were following Beefies plan. I chose the bottom right entrance to guard because it’s the most obscure and I didn’t want to get into a fight.
During the night, I talk a short break from guarding to pay a visit to the pit, keep in mind that every one who has died ends up there along with their equipment. It’s not the first time I have visited it, and that’s were I get my stuff from, there are about a dozen people down there and no one else has taken anything, so I can pick and choose the best stuff. Anyway, I actually used Ephrums robes to make a sack, which I filled with as many knives it could hold. That was the sack Komm saw me with. If people want proof, I now have 6 long knives and a set of throwing knives which I sure didn’t buy. I don’t know how I go about showing you guys, but I suppose Frenzy will tell you it’s true.
After visiting the pit, I returned to my post, stopping briefly to beat down Komm.

Which brings me to another point; we all know the mafia are capable of dishing it out pretty badly. So that makes me wonder Komm would try and attack them on his own when he’s obviously not invincible in a fight, seems like it would just get him killed. On the other hand, if he’s a mafia, and he is tough enough for it to be plausible, then attacking townies makes a bit more sense, because he could expect them to be weaker. Unfortunately for him, I was better then your average townie.

I’d be glad to spend tonight confined to my room, provided someone actually checks I’m there, but please actually make it clear if that’s what you want me to do, that was the problem last night; I didn’t quite know what to do.

Edit: Oh Draconian, I don't think Omanes needs any more gold, I think that's were the gold form dead people ends up, because it's sure as hell not on their corpses in the pit.

Alright Amazing, you're cleared for now b/c I have bigger fish to fry although if you were trying to help us; you should been less sneaky about it. At least I know what you meant by selling knives. Don't worry, you're weren't the only neutral faction in this game. I'm was one of them before the Beefy episode.

I agree with FactionHeir that we have to lynch Andres. He hasn't been around and no one has seen him during night phases. That would mean that he isn't in the game anymore (not very likely) or he is up to no good. Another good target is Kyros since someone said they were attacked by him and he hasn't even responded to the accusation. In fact he hasn't even been active since Day 1 with his one post of wanting to be welcomed. In conclusion, I will hold off on Andres, for the moment and try to get rid of Kyros.

There were no guards ordered to patrol the Medical Wing last night.
Master Assassin follows orders; if told to eliminate witnesses and given enough cash, he will do so; otherwise, he fights only as neccesary.
And yes Garci, you are dead. No surviving - sans-arm and with your guts spilling out - for you.
Although nuetrals can join the mafia side, no-one can be forcibly recruited.

Prior to last night, I had no idea how my strength would stack up against anyone else's. My stats and equipment seemed reasonable, and I augmented them a little by buying a shield, so I thought I had a reasonable chance - but it's difficult to guess when you don't know how strong anyone else is.

Andres has been mostly absent from this game, and I've been suspicious of him from the beginning. He was here earlier today, but all he did was post a status list - nothing at all regarding his thoughts. I'd like to get his opinion on the proceedings. So FoS: Andres.

But I'm going to:

Kryos looked up, cradling his left arm as his name was called; his eyes went wild and darting. Then in one swift movement he stood, drew his short sword and charged Shaterus, revealing broken links in his chain mail and crude self-applied bandages underneath. Shaterus, was unfortunately more prepared than yesterday. He flung out his left arm in a horizontal swing, blocking the blade with a steel vambrace even as he took a step forward, head coming back before snapping forward, skull meeting face in a spray of blood.
Kryos staggered back, sword-arm rising instinctively to hold his broken nose, but Shaterus moved with unbelievable speed, slamming a knee up into Kyros’ groin and stepping back again as the man automatically hunched forward. Head drew level with chest, and Shaterus’ arm flashed out, elbow catching the bottom-back of his jaw and sending him reeling to the side. Still moving, Shaterus’ left hand snagged the sword out of the falling man’s hand and thrust it down as he knelt.
Kyros hit the ground already dead, his sword stabbed through the side of his neck, down into his chest and severing his heart. Shaterus knelt over the body for a long moment, staring avidly as the light went out of his eyes, then stood, twitching the hem of his red cloak out of the growing pool of blood shield-hand flexing constantly. "I didn't like him, either."

Sorry for my lack of participating in this game :embarassed:

I planned to spend a night at the Org yesterday, but I fell asleep in the sofa before and when I woke up it was time to go to sleep bed. Guess I'm getting too old for this stuff :shame:

Very busy real life and it's kinda difficult to make long, elaborate posts with lots of analysis while at work.

Anyway:

Tran, Waldinger said you were in the tree on the first two nights. What have you been doing since then?

I was in the Guest Quarters last night. I encountered Kyros and I talked to him. All of the sudden a dark cloaked figure attacked Kyros. Tran saw the struggle and exited his room to help. Kyros ran away. Tran cut off the dark cloaked figure's arm and I managed to hit him with my knife.

From the descriptions, me thinks that dark figure was Garcilaso. Don't know why he attacked both me and Kyros though. Fortunately, Tran was there to save us from the attacker.

Kommo, you do realise that your claim that you are acting as a vigilante at night is also the perfect cover for a mafioso?

Right now, I'm most suspicious of Kommodus and The Amazing Me.

Kommo, why exactly did you unvote The Amazing Me? I mean, he was/is scavenging in the pit for better equipment, walking around at night, not obeying the orders of FH and Zain to stay in the guest quarters, ... And the role he claims, "neutral warrior"...?

The Amazing Me is obviously guilty and I don't like the way how Kommo puts pressure on him first and unvotes him later for a reason (scavenging in the pit for better equipment) that makes TAM look even more scummy then he already was imo.

Kommodus displays the typical behaviour of a mafioso attacking his own teammate and then backing off just in time to avoid getting him lynched.

Finally, I also want to announce that I probably won't be able to post tomorrow and Friday. All saints + yearly family reunion

I think its safe to exclude Andres as a suspect. If he's a mafioso, he usually retains his activity, although is slightly more neutral and less inquisitorial in his comments.

On the other hand he is using invisibility mode - a possible way of preventing us from realising that his claims aren't actually very truthful. May I ask why you are trying to hide your activity status from us?

As for The Amazing Me, I'm not quite sure. His posting does have an aura of scummyness lurking around it, but this could just be placed down to the fact that he is relatively new to the world of mafia.

Kommodus, on the other hand, did use classical mafia tactics, as Andres has pointed out. Voting for The Amazing Me and then removing the vote at just the right time to avoid his lynch. In addition, The Amazing Me was also pointing suspicion at Kommodus. This could be a hint of a, probably mafia, partnership.

You're probably right about the attacker being Garci. I wish we'd had this information prior to the lynch. :dizzy2:

But something still doesn't quite add up. Tran initially claimed he'd been attacked by Kyros. This led some of us to vote for Kyros. But then Kyros counterclaimed, saying he had been the one attacked (though he didn't say specifically who had attacked him; I had assumed he meant Tran).

What's the deal, Tran? Why did you claim you had been attacked by Kyros? :inquisitive:

Kommo, why exactly did you unvote The Amazing Me? I mean, he was/is scavenging in the pit for better equipment, walking around at night, not obeying the orders of FH and Zain to stay in the guest quarters, ... And the role he claims, "neutral warrior"...?

I unvoted TAM because his claim concerning his whereabouts can be easily disproven if it's false, so I didn't think he'd make it if it wasn't true. Now that you mention it, just because he was scavenging in the pit last night doesn't necessarily make him innocent. I'll have to reconsider this.

Kommodus displays the typical behaviour of a mafioso attacking his own teammate and then backing off just in time to avoid getting him lynched.

I don't think this is exactly typical, Andres. Few mafiosi will actually try such stunts, especially for no reason. This is, of course, ultimately WIFOM, but I'm just pointing out the flaw in your logic. TAM may be guilty (as may I from everyone else's perspective), but it wouldn't make sense for us to try a trick like this together if we were teammates.

An unclear pm? My pm said something in the lines of somebody attacking me and Kyros, Kyros receiving a few blows, Tran coming to the rescue and cutting of an arm and me seeing the opportunity to give the attacker a stab with my knife. Can't quote the pm, but it sounded a bit confusing. Anyway, I think me and Kyros got attacked by Garcilaso, Tran came to help us, Kyros ran away, Tran inflicted a major injury to Garci and I finished the job with my knife.

Meh. WIFOM as you said.
+ We are nearing the end game. It's the perfect moment to pull of such a stunt. There's no flaw in my logic. Talking about logic, your reason for unvoting TAM was terrible. In fact, you unvoted him for a reason which was a very good one to keep your vote on him, instead of withdrawing it. It seems like you yourself used bad logic to unvote a player who is very, very, very likely to be guilty.

And then the "neutral" role he claimed :inquisitive: The last one I saw claiming a "neutral" role was The Stranger in pevergreens' game... The Stranger was guilty as hell.

I am not the only one using invisible mode here... It's not scummy.

Besides, since I got "greeniefied", I have alot more pm'ing to do.

I don't feel like having to explain why I was pm'ing at a certain moment over and over again in every mafia game I am participating in.

But I'll switch it off, because, on second thoughts, it might be considered an unfair advantage, since I can see through other players invisible mode while staying unnoticed myself.

"I don't like the following people: Andres, The Amazing Me, Tran, Kommodus"

Talking about logic, your reason for unvoting TAM was terrible. In fact, you unvoted him for a reason which was a very good one to keep your vote on him, instead of withdrawing it. It seems like you yourself used bad logic to unvote a player who is very, very, very likely to be guilty.

I disagree Andres. My reason for unvoting TAM wasn't that bad, and it certainly wasn't (as you say) a reason to keep my vote on him. Everyone could have an interest in scavenging for equipment in the pit for the same reason (acquiring better equipment in order to fight better). The fact that he was occupied with scavenging/beating me up means, at the least, that he wasn't actively killing anyone else this particular night (unless he's somehow able to move really quickly and do a bunch of stuff in the same night - unlikely). Since a bunch of people did die, I felt that there were better lynch candidates - specifically those without alibis. Kyros was one of them, since he didn't show up to defend himself until it was very, very late, and you didn't tell us of your contact with him until the lynch was done.

Though your point about the fishiness of TAM's claimed role is noted. TAM, do you have any other evidence that could back up your role?

(Also Andres, for the record, I think you should keep invisible mode on. Just don't abuse your moderator powers by watching other people's profiles.)

Tran

Tran, Waldinger said you were in the tree on the first two nights. What have you been doing since then?
Lie. I have never been on the courtyard. I was either in the Guest Quarters or in the room, like Andres mentioned, last night.

Because that's exactly what I understand from the PM :dizzy2: :wall:

In fact, I thought Kyros came to attack Andres together with one other cloaked figure. It turned out that both Kyros and Andres were attacked, after I read Andres' post. You can blame me, or you can blame the host for the "ambiguity" :shame:

I think it is safe to remove Tran from the suspect list. Me and him were hiding in the tree on night one and he didn't attack me. On night two, I was praying and he was in the tree.

Well, that didn't help nor did it hurt.

Whoops, I guess Kyros was innocent. Oh well, not too big of a loss; that should teach him to be more active in the thread if he didn't want to be lynched. Although, now I am suspecting the worst.
Why were you so pale, Craterus, last night when we were exchanging shields?

The description of TAM's role sounds believable enough; I too was a neutral faction at the start of the game. In fact, I was using Beefy's unconscious corpse as bait but that didn't really turn out very well. That was when I decided to put my personal interests aside and help out the town. But, now I must go back to my prime directive and find that vampire. All those people who died with blood sentences were b/c of my inability to find that vampire. I must forget and once again become the Vampire Hunter. So if you're going to kill anyone tonight, vampire, I'll be in the courtyard waiting for you.

I don't actualy know what's happened to me, but do vampires need a fresh supply of blood?

EDIT: Or can the vampire also take blood from dead bodies, as in, from the bodies in the pit? OMgosh fos: TAM!

I don't know how vampires work in this game, but most of them can't take the blood from dead bodies unless they have died within the last 12 hours.
The only problem is that we can't verify where the TAM was when he went back into the guest quarters. Besides, there were already attacks on people during the day so I don't think a vampire would have to resort to going to the pit to get blood. I don't think it would be him but you never know.

As for the paleness, the only explanation I can think of is nervousness. I'll be honest and say I was/am kind of suspicious of you, Draconian. Craterlin was on full alert for a trap when we exchanged shields.

Craterlin was on full alert for a trap when we exchanged shields.
A trap??? After you saved my life; you thought that I would repay you by luring you into a trap? My only trap that I set up nearly cost me my life, if it wasn't for you.
And besides, after seeing you kill Tiberius and Kyros, you would have probably pwned me and then say "I don't like buckler shields."

Like I said, I'm not big on combat, that's why I gave you my shield that I wasted 5 gold on. Anyone need gold???

Craterus
11-01-2007, 22:24
Haha. I think that's an elaboration by the hosts. I never came up with Craterlin's catchphrase, maybe it was shlin. Not that I mind, it's pretty cool.

Anyway, I'm not so suspicious now. The transaction went down smoothly (edit: although, im not too happy about all the people that died in our absence). However, it's your alibi from the killings (as well as mine), so I'm not suspicious anymore like I said. Unless you used some of your excess gold on hiring out the Master Assassin, but I think that's unlikely.

If there's a vampire, it has to be Shaterus :inquisitive:

Well, I don't think it would be Cratelin since he is impervious to fire attacks.
Actually the main reason that I don't think it was him is b/c he hasn't attacked anybody and left a bloody message near the corpses. Like he said, I am his alibi for any attacks or any suspicions. If he is a vampire, well I wouldn't kill him anyway since I would have died during the second night. He saved my life so if he wants to suck my blood, then go right ahead.

Let me put it this way; I've done 2735 words atm, and I'm mostly done.

Comments of 'Too long, didn't read' will not be found amusing.

Omanes stood awkwardly on the raised dais, his throne behind him. He was not used to all this armour; leather, chainmail and steel attachments were quite a bit heavier then his normal fine clothing. But, with the daemon-worshippers on the loose, it was probably for the best.
He surveyed his Hall, looking once more for any sign of a guilty party. But there were only his trusted bodyguards before him; Zain armoured much as he himself was, Faction in heavy plate mail. They rested their eyes on the other plate-armoured man in the Hall, Tran, ready to attack when the moment came. There was savage Shaterus, his shield and breastplate replaced this morning; loyal Draconian with crossbow slung over his back; the pageboy Andres, standing out in the crowd because of his lack of armour or weapons; mercenary Amazing, armed with the possessions of the dead; and lastly the oddly familiar-looking Kommodus .
Omanes watched as these few remaining suspects headed for the doors, and felt a flicker of fear. Would it work? ‘It has to,’ he thought fervently, ‘It has to.’

Amazing walked to the door that would take him almost straight to the Guest Quarters; no point in making himself look even worse, although it was probably time to skip out on this job. Wondering how best to avoid the guards stationed around the Castle and make a break for it, he opened the door, feeling the presence of several others behind him.
Before him stood six guards, swords drawn and shields strapped to arms. One took a step forward, into the Hall as Amazing moved back to give him space.
“My Lord, you ordered that all exits to the Hall be guarded, so that no daemon-worshipper could escape. But for all we know, the daemons have taken you, so we’re just gonna sit out here and wait for y’all to die.”
He grinned, revealing yellowed, rotted teeth.
“Have fun now.”
He stepped back and the door slammed closed, followed by the two at the other exits. Amazing turned around to face the group of scared and confused faces behind him. He was the first to do so, and was therefore the first to see Zain and Factionheir begin their charge.
“Betrayal! Treachery from the Lord!” he bellowed, stepping back to let the doorway secure his rear and drawing his weapons.

Zain felt a flash of anger for the mercenary; Faction should have killed him when he had the chance. But he pushed aside the anger, and ran towards Tran, readying his weapons. He was faster than his brother, and so would strike first. He had to weaken or at least unbalance him before Faction arrived, so they could move on to their next target. Throwing the dagger in his left hand, he tensed to follow with the right, but he saw a blade flashing at him from the side and turned it desperately, flinging his arm upwards to block. The blade bit half-way through his dagger, the strength of the blow sending him sprawling to the floor, right in front of the now armed and ready Tran. Almost four feet of sharpened steel came whistling down…
A flash of pain and a spurt of blood, as blade bit through skin and bone...

Faction stepped past his brother’s body, willing himself not to look down, trying to keep his mind on the task at hand; eliminating his brother’s killer. To that end, he sent his twin shortswords whistling towards Tran’s head, intending to ‘scissor’ it off in one brutal maneuver. But the cursed bastardsword, still point-down in a pool of blood, moved twice to stop them, strummed steel echoing throughout the Hall.
Clang! Clang!
Now, however, Faction was inside Tran’s reach, and exploited that fact ruthlessly, blades flashing towards chinks and joins in the man’s plate as he desperately moved them out of the way, instead sending them rebounding off broad, thick plates of steel.
Factionheir smiled behind his featureless greathelm. The moment was nearing…

Tran was in a bad place. The plate-armoured bodyguard of Omanes had drawn too close for him to use his sword, while pummeling him with continuous blows. A Knight of the Realm, spoiled nobles for the most part, would have died in this situation, knowing not how to break free. But he was not a knight, though armed as one; he was a daemonically-Altered follower of the Blessed One, and he would not fail.
Tilting his head to the left to avoid a lethal stop-thrust, he bunched up his free hand and slammed it into Faction’s chest, sending him back a few steps as breath left his body. Using the same hand to push him back more, he swung with the suddenly-usable bastardsword in his right. Now it was Factionheir on the defensive, dual swords unable to get close to his body, forced to block and block again as he drew on his daemonic gifts, blade moving with greater speed as he switched hands for unpredictable attacks.
Left, right, two-handed, right, left, left, always moving him back. The first bodyguard’s throwing knife had been easy enough to avoid, surprised though he had been, and he had fallen soon after. This one, it seemed, would soon follow suit…

Faction sighed mentally, needing all his physical breath to power his defence. There was one option remaining to him, and it would mean his death. If he didn’t take it though, he would most likely die anyway, and the murderer would go free.
He tensed, ready to throw himself on the man’s dancing blade before closing in and striking his own killing blow. But then he saw something behind Tran, and froze, mind uncomprehending…

Zain staggered upright, clutching the side of his head with one hand. Luckily the target hadn’t had a chance to check him over, otherwise he would have seen that he’d merely taken an ear and sheared off some skull.
Turning drunkenly, he saw the two plate duelists fighting furiously. Walking forward, he focused his eyes, making sure he had the one with one sword, not two.
He found the target, found the join in his waist armour. Dropping his blood-slick hand, he gripped his sword with both hands and thrust upwards…

Tran smiled; the bodyguard was about to die by his hand. Then he felt searing pain, a swordblade piercing a join in his armour from behind and seeking his heart, missing it by a bare inch as the tip poked out through the meat of his neck. Black spots danced across his failing vision, but he would not die alone. His right hand fell from its striking position, hilt rolling over his fingers as his body weakened, but he would not die alone.
Gathering his last reserves of strength, he acted. His fingers snapped closed around the hilt of his sword, now point-down, and he thrust backwards as hard as he was able. He felt the shock through his arm as blade bit steel and bone, and the corners of his mouth twitched upwards.
He would not die alone…

Captain Arthua frowned.
“What do you mean, I am forbidden entry? Fool, the Lord requires aid!”
The guard smiled.
“How you know he’s not one of ‘em? You ain’t goin’ in. An’ don’t think those three pretty-boys behind you will change nuthin’.”
He added, nodding to the six gold-trimmed Elites behind Arthua. The Captain turned to face the only troops seemingly still loyal to Omanes in the whole Castle.
“Well men, it seems we urgent business awaiting us somewhere other than the Hall.”
He paused, gathering his breath and courage. They were outnumbered, after all, and the enemy already had weapons drawn. The Elites nodded at him, indicating that they were prepared.
“Cleanse the Traitors! For Lord Omanes!”
He whirled, sword leaving its sheath and entering the traitor’s neck…

Draconian was dimly aware that the charging bodyguards had met resistance and were even now fighting to a stand-still, but he was more interested in Andres. Andres, who had counter-charged, slashing at Zain as he moved past with unbelievable speed.
He unslung his crossbow, slotting a bolt into place in seconds. It would be a difficult shot, but he had hunted unnatural creatures for a long time now, and he could make it.
He raised his weapon, sighted down its length, and centered it on Omanes' chest, seeing a blur out of the corner of his eye.
He inhaled, exhaled, and let his finger squeeze the trigger…

Andres had seen his chance when both bodyguards left their positions to attack Tran; his chance to complete his mission. Drawing strength from within, he abandoned any pretense of being an innocent page, and ran for Lord Omanes, taking a shot at Zain as he passed; Tran could use the help.
In two seconds, he had crossed the distance from entrance to dais, and was only a few feet from Omanes. The fop, weighed down by unfamiliar armour, was still quick to draw his rapier and lung forward, the tip of his sword aiming for the eyes.
Andres didn’t stop moving, taking another step even as he arched his upper body backwards, drawing his longknife with his left hand and using it to slam the thinner weapon away. Taking another step forward and coming upright once more, his keen senses warned him of danger and he took a step to Omanes’ left as he whirled, right hand grasping the bolt and redoubling its speed as he guided it into the Lord’s neck.
The fool would die by his hand; no-one else’s…

“Nooo!”
Faction turned at the shriek, still seeing the intertwined bodies of his brother and his murderer, their swords thrust into each other at reverse angles; forming a steel ‘V’ of gore-soaked steel. He staggered at the new horror his eyes showed him; Andres letting Omanes' body drop from the dais as he released a crossbow bolt, Draconian screaming and holding his head, crossbow on the floor next to him.
He turned as the two main doors to the Hall burst open, disgorging a wave of guards, led by Captain Arthua and three blood-spattered Elites.
“They’ve murdered Lord Omanes! Kill them all!”
‘No,’ Faction wanted to say, ‘it wasn’t all of them.’
But he could not voice the words, and his eyes had found Andres, slipping unobtrusively towards the Lord’s Door.
‘Just him.’
“Guards! To me, to me!” He yelled as he charged, echoing his brother’s call of only three nights before.

Kommodus backed away almost without thinking, seeing his death in the sea of rage-filled faces coming towards him. A hand clamped down on his shoulder, the pressure bringing him back to himself. He looked up into the face of Amazing, old beyond its years.
“Stay by me, follow my instructions, and maybe we’ll get out of here alive.”
Kommodus glanced at the guards again, then looked doubtfully back to the mercenary. Who half-grimaced, half-grinned.
“Well, we can at least make them pay for our deaths.”
‘Yes,’ he thought, ‘we can at least do that.’
His eyes drift to the body of his late father, and something inside him hardened. The man had deserved to die, but with his death had come a great calamity, one that would be felt hardest of all by the scum of the world…by those who had raised him.
‘And maybe, just maybe, we’ll get out of here alive. And then, then I can begin to help...’

Andres laughed with glee, ducking under a guard’s wild swing, coming up within his reach and quickly plunged his dagger in then out of his eye, dancing away even as the body collapsed. Three more already lay dead in his path, but now he was face-to-face with that plate-armoured bodyguard, Factionheir, and one of the cloaked Elites.
A grin split his face and he laughed again, running off into the crowd of surrounding guards, ducking, dodging, cutting, stabbing; killing.

Amazing blocked the thrust with his shield, taking off the man’s arm in a return blow from his bastardsword. Taking one step back and to the right, he turned to face the right of his old position, slapping down a sword with the rim of his shield while keeping the rest back with a wild swing from his own.
At his back, Kommodus had changed position also, his longsword slightly less adept at killing opponents but still with a greater reach then theirs, allowing him to land several crippling blows while avoiding them himself.
The two fought back to back, circling constantly, shields dancing to block blades and swords flicking out to land the occasional blow. Already five men lay dead or dying, but there were more, always more coming, eager to kill the ‘murderers’.
‘How the ***ing hell did I ever think we’d make it out of here?!’ Amazing thought wildly, taking a slash across his arm in order to literally disarm another guard...

Draconian watched the guards coming towards him dully. He had failed in his task, in his mission to destroy the vampire inhabiting the Castle, and now he had killed the only thing stopping the evil daemon hordes from overrunning the Kingdom. He was a failure, and he could not see any reason to fight for his life.
Three guards were ahead of the rest, infront of even the Elites and Arthua. Sound seemed to almost disappear as they closed in, weapons waving wildly, mouths moving soundlessly, heavy footfalls making the quietest thumps. The guards were no more then four strides away now. It would all be over soon.
Suddenly, something stepped into the way, half-obscuring his view. The faint rasp of leather on steel as Shaterus' sword left its sheath seemed deafeningly loud, and Draconian watched as the blade arced outwards, ripping out the right-most guard’s throat as Shaterus slammed his shield into the left-most. The first guard hit the ground noiselessly as Shaterus continued his movement, turning on one foot and driving his bastardsword down through the man’s heart. Letting go of the hilt, he moved forward to confront the last guard, shield-bashing his weapon away and landing a punch to his face. Before the man could fall, he grabbed him by the tabard near his neck, lifted him into the air, and sank his rapidly-lengthening canines into his neck.
The following guards stopped in their charge and stood watching, horrified, as the captured man became paler and the vampire became less; a healthy flush filling his skin. Finishing his meal, Shaterus raised his head and regarded them for a moment before tossing the man carelessly to one side, the shriveled sack of flesh and bones sliding along the floor until it hit the wall, propelled by the weight of its armour. He smirked, and his eyes flashed crimson as sound returned to Draconian's world.
“I think we shall be friends.”
Arthua let out a yell, leading the renewed charge on evil.
Shaterus half-spun, whipping free his sword before turning to face the guards again, weapon in hand.
Draconian hesitated. His path should be clear; destroy the vampire who even now exposed his back. But how could he betray someone who had already saved his life twice?
“I don’t know what to do…” he moaned, head in hands…

Cimmerian cocked his head. From his hide-out in Shlin’s room, he could hear the sound of fighting in the Hall. Lots of fighting.
Standing, he checked his daggers and restocked his shuriken.
“Time to go kill some people.”

Andres half-decapitated a man with his knife, using his bare hand to rip out another’s throat. Stooping to pick up one of the shields, he whirled around and flung it discus-style at his pursuers, clipping top of the Elite’s skull, snapping his head back and breaking his neck. As the man fell, Andres decided he’d had enough games; time to destroy that pathetic bodyguard who was following him doggedly through the melee.
Lunging back along his path, he dodged around a now-dying guard and was met by two swords thrusting towards his chest. Side-stepping the main blow, he still felt two trails of fire traced along his side, added to the dozens of other minor gashes and slices in his host body. His return blow, battered longknife flashing out towards throat, was blocked by both of Faction’s swords. Snarling in annoyance, he leaned over their straining weapons and stared through the helm’s eyeslits.
“You cannot defeat me, human. I killed your Lord, I killed your brother. You shall soon follow them.”
Faction grunted with exertion, pushing the knife further away from his body with all his strength.
“Yes, you’ve killed my Lord, you’ve killed my brother, and thus ended my desire for life.” With a heave, he pushed the pageboy away, their respective weapon flicking up into guard position.
“Now I only want death.” He continued, pointing a sword at Andres. “Your death, my death, the death of everyone responsible.”
“You really think you can kill all everyone here, or any of my superiors who ordered those deaths?”
“No,” Faction sighed, lowering his arms and bowing slightly under the sudden weight of mail and duty.
“But I’ll settle for you.”

Andres was forced back by the sudden attack, longknife jumping from side to side in an attempt to block every attack, but with a single blade even he was not fast enough; more cuts were added to his collection, and he thought with a laugh that any human would have died from blood loss by now.
This sudden onslaught was worrying however, and Andres wondered with concern if this God of theirs had intervened. But then he saw an opening, and in that moment the tables turned.
Blade flashed along forearm, through combat straps and tendons, and Faction’s left sword dropped from nerveless fingers. His right arm was enclosed in a steely grip, and his head snapped upwards from a vicious uppercut, taking his helm and exposing his neck to the knife.
Andres smiled. What God would let his followers die?

“…I don’t know what to do, I don’t know what to do..”
Shaterus warded off the guards with a serious of savage, double-handed swings from his sword, then whirled.
“You’re a hunter, aren’t you?”
Draconian stared at him, uncomprehending.
“Hunt!”
Shaterus yelled, pointing to where Andres was decimating several squads of soldiers.
Yes, that was right. There was still evil in this place, still a task remaining that needed to be done.
Draconian retrieved his crossbow, slotting in place his most deadly weapon; a pointed steel stake, blessed by the holy Bishop Andorn.
Sighting towards the carnage, ignoring the fighting not two feet from him, Draconian saw the deadly series of blows as Faction was laid low, saw the possessed one pause to savor his triumph, and fired.

Sudden, shocking pain, as he was transfixed through the heart, host body failing, fading, dying.
No.
He drew strength from the Warp, dropping his old prey and seeking his new. Sighting the man, he snarled and flashed across the intervening space, ignoring the agony he felt.
He lunged…

Draconian lowered his weapon, watching calmly as the possessed approached in a blur of movement. Shaterus stepped up next to him.
“Well, ****.”
Draconian smiled.
“No, it’s good. He’s bound to this plane now. Here,” he added, holding out a vial. “holy water. You’ll need it.”
And then Andres was there, and they were fighting for their lives.

Andres felt his connection to the Warp failing, and drew as much power into himself as he could. He fell upon the two before him, slashing with his knife. Fast as he was, one of them was just as quick, blocking with shield and, when the blade stuck, throwing it aside. A flash of movement to his right, and he flung his hands in front of his face, feeling glass smash against them before the liquid hit. Andres screamed in agony as the flesh burned away, leaving his fingers talons of bone and tattered muscle.
He turned on the one who had attacked him with wicked speed, fingers serving as weapons, flaying flesh and leather, his victim staggering back in a spray of blood. Sensing the other readying his attack, he grabbed the man’s shortsword and whirled, grinning as he saw the inscribed blade and the creature before him.
‘A blessed weapon and a vampire…perfect.’

Shaterus ripped the remains of his shield from his arm, throwing it and the embedded longknife to the floor before turning to resume the fight. Only to see Draconian falling to the floor, chest and arms shredded by the possessed’s bare hands. Andres turned, Draconian’s inscribed shortsword in hand and a grin plastered across his face.
“Still wish to challenge me? Your friend didn’t fair so well.”
Shaterus felt blood – blood! Sweet blood! – surging through his desiccated veins. His strength had been slowly draining away as the distance from his last meal grew, but now he was empowered anew.
“He was a mere mortal.”
Shaterus felt his rage unlocking the more…savage part of his heritage, one side of his mouth rising in a slow smirk.
“Try your luck with one of the Night’s Chosen.”
The blessed sword streaked towards him and he parried with his own weapon before replying with a sucker punch. Andres caught it in his bony grasp, twisting it and forcing Shaterus to turn, off hand behind him and back to his attacker. Before he could be spitted, he slammed his elbow back into the boy’s chest, followed by flinging his head back into his face then leaning forward and lashing out with his foot, sending Andres staggering back.
Shaterus whipped around, bastardsword scything through the air only to be slapped down by the possessed’s hand. They each leaped forward, trying to eliminate the other before their reserves of energy ran out. Soon Shaterus had picked up a collection of magical wounds, and he could feel the blood literally boiling in his veins as he tapped into only-just-replenished stores of power.
‘Perhaps an Elder would be better suited to this task,’ he thought wryly, jerking his head back to avoid loosing an eye; instead getting slashed from jawline to eyesocket…

Almost all other fighting in the Hall had stopped, noted Kommodus, but the reason for this escaped him. This was probably because the soldiers nearby still wanted his head, and while Amazing’s tactic had worked – they were still alive, weren’t they? – the fact still remained that few against many only really had one conclusion.
They had long since given up trying to land blows, and now only used their swords to parry and launch the odd distracting blow. Suddenly there was an emptiness behind him, as Amazing was slashed deeply across the chest and shield-bashed to the ground. Kommo slashed wildly with his sword to keep his share off their backs, then turned to try and deal with the rest, knowing already that their stand was at an end.
There was a buzzing sound as blades cut through the air, and then soldiers were falling, blood spurting from neck- and arm- wounds. The suddenly clear space in front of Kommo revealed a brown-armoured figure, draped in a hooded black cloak and reaching both hands around the back of it into a leather pouch from it’s position on top of a presumably dead guard. The gloved hands came back into view, holding a dozen star-shaped pieces of edged steel.
“Oh, not this again..” Amazing moaned, feebly pulling his shield over himself.
Vzzzzzzz…
Vzzzzzzz…
Vzzzzzzz…
Kommo swore and began raising his shield, hoping the throwing stars were slower than they looked. Sudden motion out of the corner of his eye, then…
Vzzzzzzz-chink!
Vzzzzzzz-chink!
Vzzzzzzz-chink!
A second set of stars hit the first not two feet away from Kommodus, sending them clattering to the floor harmlessly. Kommodus, Amazing and the gathered guards and soldiers arrayed against them all craned their necks to see this latest threat.
Standing casually by one entrance was a black-armoured, black-cloaked figure, a silk scarf hiding his lower features as he stared emotionlessly at the hooded figure. After a moment the nearer assassin sheathed his knives and bowed his head, hands clasped together, then moved to his sensei. Without acknowledging anyone else in the room, they left, disappearing through the doorway…

Three blows, and the fight was ended. Three blows; two slashing across the battered face of his breastplate, one biting into his side and sending him to his knees.
Shaterus' sword clattered to the ground as he used his hands to stop himself hitting face-first. Hunger once again ravaged his body, along with agony from the ever-burning wounds inflicted by Draconian's sword
‘Should’ve run when I had the chance. Guess I’ll sit up and die erect, at least.’
His gaze lifted as he shifted weight, showing him the hunter’s shattered body, still drawing unsteady breath.
‘Son of a….Well, it’s only pain.’
Grabbing the hilt of his sword as he rose to one knee, Shaterus leaped to his feet, sending his sword scything up and out. The edge bit through sinew and bone, Andres' arm spiraling through the air as Shaterus was carried forward by momentum, blessed shortsword entering neck, cutting through shoulder blade muscles and narrowly missing the spinal column.
Exploiting its own momentum and the few working muscles available to it, Shaterus' left arm rose up, slamming a glass vial against the side of Andres' head. The scream that followed was dual-voiced; the holy water burning the vampire’s hand and arm even as it melted away the possessed’s flesh…

Andres shrieked, agony driving him half-mad as his host form died, sinking to the floor and staring about with burned-out pits where his eyes used to be. Trying desperately to abandon the human child to its fate, he realized he could not. The blessed stake embedded in his torso was attempting to hold him, but it alone could not stop one such as he. Feeling a rising horror, he directed his senses to the walls, crying out in the silence of his mind at what he saw there.
Crucifixes. Hundreds of foot-long blessed crucifixes, fixed between the double-thickness walls during construction.
Andres cried with despair in the emptiness of his fading body. He had destroyed the mind of the occupant long ago, out of pity for its crying and pleading. He now wished he hadn’t, had kept the human around to suffer as he was; dying with slow agony in the grasp of the cruel, uncaring God and its worshippers.
All he had desired was to bring his people out of their shattered lands, all he had wanted was to take a piece of this vast, rich territory to claim as his own.
Just..a piece…of this..beautiful….
….all I wanted……..

“You’d think they’d be nicer.” Shaterus said from his position crouched over Draconian's body. “Considering I just saved their lives and all.”
Kommodus grunted non-committaly, focusing on binding Amazing's wounds. The vampire looked down at the hunter.
“He’s talkative.”
Draconian coughed, then drew breath to speak.
“He just doesn’t want to look at your ugly visage. For that matter; neither do I.”
Shaterus grinned; a rather disturbing action, considering he still carried his many untended-to wounds.
“You can have your sword back, by the way.”
Draconian groaned, waved a hand feebly.
“Not after you've bled all over it.”
Shaterus looked at the hilt, sticking from his shoulder.
“Yeah, that’s probably fair.”
“Are they still deciding what to do with us?”
The vampire grew serious, raising his head, squinting to try and make out the conversation between Faction and Arthua. They turned to a nearby soldier, gave him an order, then stalked off to some other part of the castle.
“We’re doomed.”
The soldier approached.
“Priests are being sent, to care for your wounds.”
“Well that’s helpful.” Draconian offered. Shaterus glowered.
“A little late for some of us.”
The soldier turned to him.
“I understand you drink blood?”
The vampire looks slightly surprised, nods. The soldier nods formally, gestures for seven others to join them.
“We offer you ours; a little at least. You saved us all back there, and we owe you.”
Draconian offered a liquid laugh from behind him. Shaterus whirled.
“You’re dying, damnit. You know who’s going to get the last word.”
He waits expectantly for laughter, but turns to find the soldiers all staring at him, stony-faced.
“I hate you all.”

-------------------------------------------------------------

The trainee hunter looked up from his desk, jumped. The tall, gaunt man before him lifted his arms slightly, displaying the body held within, wrapped in a tattered red greatcloak.
“I believe this belongs to you?”
The hunter peered at the body, before realizing what it was and yelling.
“That’s….that’s a dead hunter! I know this guy!”
The man nodded.
“Yes, he is dead. I’m told you have a place where you entomb honoured hunters.”
“Why, what did he do that’s so honour-worthy? Die?” asked the boy.
“He was fatally wounded by one daemon-possessed. Its dead now.” said the man, matter-of-factly.
“He killed it?” asked the boy, suddenly awed. The man cocked his head.
“Yes, I tend to think of it that way.” He placed the body on the desk and turned to leave, but some pieces finally clicked in the boy’s mind.
“Hey! You’re a vampire! You and him would have been enemies!”
Shaterus glanced over his shoulder and smiled sadly.
“Really? I like to think we would have been friends.”

Magnificent write-up!

So... I died because I didn't take the plate mail before FactionHeir, causing me to be faster and get attacked... That's just great!

But I did kill Tran before I died. That was a plus... :2thumbsup:

The ending turned out great, IMO.
Andres, since you were a page boy, did any Republican senators solicit your innocence from you?:laugh4: :laugh4: I didn't know you were a page and that helps explain why when I investigated that tree again in N3; it said a child also climbed up the tree.
If you fooled everyone Waldinger, then why were you killed so early.:laugh4:
What was Kommodus' mission since he was Omanes bastard son???
I'm glad that I failed in my mission to kill the vampire; I gave specific orders not kill you Cratelin/Shaterus if y'all were the vampires. In fact, I was ready to give you my lifeblood.
Omanes isn't the only who succeeded, all of the townie members succeeded probably b/c the daemon worshippers all died?

I will wait fervently for your sequel or prequel perhaps!

Hm... interesting ending.

Great write-up, Killfr3nzy! This was a really fun game. It was a good idea and very well-executed by you and TwilightBlade.

That said, I'm still... er, really confused. :dizzy2:

Maybe it would help if people started posting what their objectives were? I can understand some of it just from role names, but other details are pretty hazy.

I'll start. My role was the Lord's Bastard, a neutral role. I had been rejected by polite society and forced to leave, ultimately being raised by the scum of the earth. I was bitter about this, and my primary objective was to eliminate the Lord. My secondary objective was to eliminate the daemon-worshippers, who I had no love for either.

I could never really see a way to pull off my primary objective; I would've had to secretly contact the daemon-worshippers and help them out, but I considered this very risky since I didn't know who they were. So I never really tried much to achieve my primary goal, except that the night me and Amazing got in a fight I also planned to attack any lone guards I could find, thinking this might weaken the Lord's defenses. Of course, I didn't meet any.

Instead, I focused on my secondary goal, but didn't accomplish much on that front either. I attacked Amazing because I considered him a suspect, but I was wrong. Other than that I just tried to vote for the daemon-worshippers.

In the end both my objectives were achieved, though neither by me. Omanes was killed and the daemon-worshippers all died.

I'm particularly interested in Shaterus's goal. He's listed as neutral, so obviously he wasn't pro-demon - but what was he trying to do?

Finally, what's the fate of the land? Overrun by demons, since the Lord is dead? Or is the castle able to hold with the remaining occupants?

Again, great job all, and a big thanks to our hosts!

I thought it would allow for a better ending for the game; add some spice to the mix. I mean if I wanted to kill you, I would have earlier but I thought it would be pretty boring. I mean, hunter=>kills vampire, hunter wins is not very interesting. Now vampire=>brings dead hunter's body to be buried is much more interesting and unique.

Well, our objective was to kill the Lord of the Castle, which we did. The pm didn't say I had to survive

Whoops, I read the roles wrong. The townies didn't succeed, so good suicide mission win. I can't believe you used my own crossbow bolt to kill Omanes, I mean evil!!!! Maybe the daemons will face a greater threat when we infiltrate your lands and destroy your worshippers.

Yeah it was good, had fun playing, I hated being a ghost :embarassed:

We didn't put in plan several of my evil plans though...

Operation Sleeping Beasts

Infect the servants whilst they are sleeping, and wait until a specific time... and unleash them on the castle! :skull: This should kill enough people, so that at the endgame I should be able to take care of them.

Operation Over-Lord

Order the infected servants to make sleeping droughts, give them to everyone... and let me bite everyone, including Omanes  Allowing me to become the supreme lord of the castle.

Operation Lone Survivor

Somehow survive till the last few rounds, order the servants to attack the last group of survivors... whilst they are fighting, I stab everyone in the back. :beam:

Those plans make me sound so evil...

Here is the mafia's little secret discussion forum (http://www.quicktopic.com/40/H/FjXjDz6hqREEc)

My role pm:

Blessed One

(12g)
You are a Blessed One, a daemon-leader of the Order who has possessed a page-boy to fit in with the castle inhabitants. You lead the agents in the Castle in your task of eliminating the Lord, but they do not know who you are. At any time you may give telepathic orders to your agents or reveal yourselves to them. The two Acolytes on this mission are Waldinger and Tiberius, disguised as a priest and mage respectively – while their Altered, Tran, is garbed as a knight of the realm.
Objective: Eliminate the Lord of the Castle.
Fight: 8
Strength: 9
Stealth: 5
Weapons: Longknife.
Equipment: Castle page gear.
Leather clothing, tabard with lord's emblem.

My orders for night 1:

Night

First of all, I will give telepathic orders
- to Waldinger : do not kill Tran, Andres or Tiberius;
- to Tran: do not kill Tiberius, Waldinger or Andres
- to Tiberius: do not kill Waldinger, Andres or Tran.

After that, I will leave my room to walk to the courtyard.

If I encounter guards, I'll hide in a dark corner. I'm just a small boy, so it should be easy for me to hide myself and stay unnoticed. If they do discover me, I'll tell them I'm on an errand for one of the knights who asked me to get him some medical supplies. If the guards tell me that I'm going the wrong way, I'll look surprised and tell them I'm just a little boy who's mother decided to let me serve Lord Omanes just a month ago. I'm pretty new, don't know the castle very well yet and with all this excitement going on... The guards will gently show me the right direction. In that case, I'll go to the medical wing and grab one healing potion or some other medical stuff. Whatever I can find, but only one potion. After that, I'll just go back to my room. If the guards don't buy my explanation, I'll start to cry. If they don't feel sorry for me, I'll run back to my room as quick as possible. Only if the guards or one of them manages to grab me, I'll fight.

If I don't encounter guards or if I do manage to sneak passed them, I'll go to the courtyard. If there are guards, I'll ignore them and I'll walk to the middle of the courtyard where I will kneel and start to pray. If the guards ask me questions, I'll tell them that I couldn't sleep out of fear, that I decided to make a walk outside and that I wanted to pray for Lord Omanes. If they want to arrest me, I'll run away. Only if they manage to grab me, I'll fight.

After my prayers and after I am absolutely sure there are no guards on the courtyard, I'll hide myself in a tree. If somebody else enters the courtyard and stands under the tree I'm hiding in, I'll jump on him, kill him and steal whatever gear he has. However, if there are other persons or guards walking on the courtyard at that time, I'll do nothing, I will just spy on them and I will leave and go back to my room once the courtyard is empty. If I encounter guards on my way back, same story as when I would encounter them on my way to the courtyard.

Under no circumstances will I attack Waldinger, Tiberius or Tran.

If I encounter another player on my way to the courtyard, the medical supplies, while I am praying at the courtyard or on my way back to my room, I will hide myself. If this doesn't succeed, I will kill him, unless there is somebody (player or guard) watching. In that case, I will just run away. If the player follows me and attacks me, I will off course fight back and kill him. I will take all his belongings.

Day
During the day, I will go to the hall of judgement. I'll take a seat as close as possible to the exit. If I am the one to get lynched, I'll run away before people start looking for me. Nobody will notice the little boy. I will hide near the Master Assasin's lair. If I get caught, I will fight and kill Zain.

Night 1 results:

You enter the courtyard without incident, a patrol of gaurds stop and watch you pray for a little while, but this is acceptable because it may hold off any others who seek to come the same way.
They leave and you immediatly climb the huge tree in the center of the courtyard.
From the right-hand entrance Draconian appears, suddenly looking towards the center entrance and aiming a crossbow. He slowly circles that general area towards while moving towards you, almost right under the tree. You start to climb up that branch, but he seems to hear you, for he looks up and studys the tree.
Just as you are about to strike, the group of guards re-appear, and Draconian nods to them and leaves the way he came.
You stay and wait till the guards go, and are about to climb down when you see some very slight movement from near the center entrance....where Draconian had been aiming...
You freeze and hold position for a long period of time, thinking you see something moving around the very edges of the courtyard, making a full circut.
Finaly you catch a glimpse of a black cloak as the guards pass by with thier torches. The cloaked figure quickly moves past the oblivious guards as they turn away, and heads to the Guest Quarters.

Back in your own room, you smell the stench of death nearby. Better take some percautions. Concentrating, you send out a message to your underlings.
The bot known as Andres is not to be harmed.
There. Nothing concrete gained, but information had been gathered.

My orders for night 2:

Here are my orders:

I will leave my room and I'll pretend to walk to the Barracks. When I pass the Treasure room, I will take a quick look to the door, from a distance if necessary to stay unnoticed, and I will keep in mind what I see.

If questions are asked by one of the guards, I'll pretend like I just tripped. Waldinger will pretend like he is helping me to get up. We will apologise to the guards or thank them for their help/concerns and walk further.

Afterwards, I'll go to the courtyard once again, to pray. Waldinger will follow me. He will be praying in the courtyard as well. After a while, when nobody is in the courtyard, I will hide in a tree again. Waldinger will keep pretending that he is praying, but in the meanwhile he will be looking in the direction of the Entrance to the courtyard. If somebody comes near me, I'll jump on him, kill him and loot the body. Before I jump though, I will look at Waldinger, who will walk slowly to the Entrance of the courtyard to make sure nobody is coming. If somebody is coming, Waldinger will give me a sign and I won't attack.

If somebody attacks me or Waldinger, we will act as a team. I'll kill the attacker while Waldinger uses his shield spell to protect me. Waldinger does not have to fight unless it is necessary. He just has to protect me with his shield spell.

If we are attacked by more then one player, I will send a telepathic message to Tran: "Come help us." Tran has to go to the Courtyard asap to help us out. It will appear like he was just walking by though. We will take everything that is on the bodies. All gold is to be given to me. Weapons and armor are to be distributed equally.

After the events, I will give Waldinger the telepatic order to go to the shop and buy a throwing knife. I will sneak behind him. After he has bought the knife, he has to go to the Hall of Judgement very early. I will be there already. When nobody is looking, Waldinger has to give me the throwing knife.

If I am to get lynched the next day, I will use the throwing knife on FactionHeir and I will try to kill Zain with my long knife.

Andres.

Night 2 results:

You sweep down the corridor a few steps behind the acolyte Waldinger, on your way to the Courtyard after spying out the Treasury. Not that you’d seen much, just a thick banded door, closed and presumably locked as well as barred. Going on the Guest Quarter patrol, they seemed to be three-strong now, which was a cause for concern. Although the guards hadn’t received any re-enforcements, so they must have come from somewhere.
You arrive in the Courtyard to find it empty, so Waldinger kneels before it and starts pretending to pray as you quickly climb the old oak tree. A mere dozen heartbeats later, the brothers Zain and Factionheir enter from the west-most courtyard entrance, clearly on a patrol. Waldinger feigns surprise and a little worry, so one smiles reassuringly at him and says;
“It’s alright Father, my brother and I are patrolling this area tonight. We shall keep you safe.”
“My thanks, child.” He murmurs, closing his eyes and pretending to continue praying. You know he is getting ready to strike at any moment, shrugging very slightly to check his sheathed daggers as the bodyguards’ footsteps fade away. You weigh up the problem from your perch high in the oak tree. On one hand, it is an excellent opportunity; call in Tran and you could wipe out Lord Omanes’ bodyguards, leaving him wide open to attacks. On the other, it would be a difficult enough battle without the probable intervention of the three-man patrol nearby, and might well result in no-one left alive to finish your task.
Finally, as the two come round for another circuit, you send a command to Waldinger.
Stay your hand.
He bows his head further in response, relaxing from his battle-ready state and preparing to wait out the night.
‘A better opportunity will present itself.’
Killfr3nzy told me in a seperate pm that Waldinger bought me a throwing knife with his own money

My orders for night 3:

I'll look through the keyhole of the door of my room. If nobody is there, I'll sneak out of my room and I'll hide in a dark room of the Guest Quarters. If anybody passes alone and he is close enough, I'll stab him. Before I do, I'll make telepathic contact with Tran, who has to look through the keyhole of his room, to make sure nobody is coming. If somebody passes by alone but is a bit too far, I'll throw a little stone. When he looks at the opposite direction, I'll sneak behind him and kill him.

I will only perform one kill. After I killed somebody, I'll sneak back to my room. Obviously, I won't kill any of my team members.

It is very unlikely that I get caught. However, if this would happen, I'll kill everybody in sight. If necessary, I'll order Tran to come out of his room and help me kill everybody on sight. If that would happen and if I survive, I'll sneak to the Master Assassin and pay him 10 gold to kill FactionHeir. The Master Assassin can keep all FH's belongings as an extra payment.

Cheers,

Andres.

PM to my teammates after the write-up of Waldingers' death was posted:

Ok guys, Waldinger got killed.

This is not necessarily a bad thing.

Tran, you are doing an excellent job at keeping a low profile

I'd suggest that, if I ever come under threat of getting lynched, Waldinger vouches for me in the thread. Tell them that your role pm said something in the lines of me being a page-boy, sent to the castle by a noble family who asked you to keep an eye on me. Pull this stunt only when it is necessary, but don't wait too long. It must not look as if you are trying to save me in extremis.

Off course, as long as I don't draw suspicion, you don't have to vouch for me.

Tiberius, I'm afraid you were obviously guilty. But you can still mess with the minds of the town, like GH did in a recent game (can't recall which one), by making posts like: "Mwahaha, you guys are so wrong!" or "Oh no, don't vote my buddy, X!" or "You guys are playing a good game! Nice going townies, you are worthy adversaries." or "Are we 100 % sure about Zain and FactionHeir? You never know, maybe they are possessed by demons?"

It doesn't matter if those posts are true or not, if the timing is good or bad, the purpose is messing with their minds

Cheers,

Andres.

P.S.: anyone knows what happened in the Medical Wing? I'm afraid we have a powerful serial killer among us... Or was it you, Tran?

Night 3 results:

You waited for someone to pass by from inside your room, tran waiting in his. Kyros emerged from his chambers, and you moved forward, engaging him in conversation and about to strike.
Just then, a black-cloaked figure appears out of the shadows and attacks. After slashing Kyros accross the chest twice, however, he is forced to defend himself from you, as you moved as fast as the man and was stronger, armed though you are with only a longknife.
Seeing he may need back-up, Tran exits his room and attacks, shattering Kyros' shield before the man flees, then taking off the figure's arm as he turned to attack you. You then leap on him and gutt him with your knife.
Hearing people approach, you order Tran to hide, and quickly follow suit.

My orders for night 4:

Okay, time for some action...

Tran has 10 gold left, I have 12. Time to spend some money...

Tran will be my puppet tonight and will do as he is told by his Master, that's me.

Both me and Tran will go to the Master Assassin.

Tran just walks, I'll sneak behind him. If a guard or somebody else spots Tran, he tells them he is worried about the recent deaths and he decided to help patrolling. If they don't buy the explanation and attack him, then I will assist Tran and we will kill every one in sight. If we both survive, we continue on our way to the assassin. If only one of us survives, the other one takes the gold and equipment of all the bodies and will continue to the assassin alone. We or I/he will give the Master Assassin all our gold (yep, ALL of it) and ask him to kill both Zain and FactionHeir. If we both reach the Master Assassin, Tran will hold guard, while I sneak to the MA's lair to drop the gold and the note with the names of who to kill.

The note will also mention that any equipment or gold the Master Assassin finds on Zain's and FH's body, he can keep. If we succeed to take over the Castle, the Master Assassin can have all the loot inside it as well. So his services will be rewarded very generously, me thinks.

I probably won't be able to log on at the Org tomorrow and Friday, so if the Day phase starts before I'm back, I won't go to the Hall of Judgement. I will hide myself in the late Waldinger's room. If I am the lynch for the day, I will throw my throwing knife to the first one who enters my hiding spot. After that, I'll storm out of my room and will attack Omanes. Tran will stay very close to Omanes and while everyone is looking at me, Tran will kill him.

If I am back before the day started, I'll pm you guys with different orders.

Cheers,

Andres.

P.S.: awesome game guys

The plan was to get rid of both FactionHeir and Zain during that night and to get Shaterus, the dangerous, evil vampire, lynched the day after... With the two bodyguards and the most powerful character dead, nothing could have stopped Tran and myself to slaughter the rest of you. Muahahaha

A Castle Information thread is in the works, as well as awards for the most...noteworthy players.
In the meantime, suggestions for the next game would be...?

Cimmerian faked his injuries...:whip:

I asked the elite guard to keep watching Cimmerian while i go heal BSR but apparently one of the lords guard ordered all the guard to go patroling..

Not a nice way to die... Especially getting killed by one of the best mate in RL... Especially getting killed by the one that I was going to help... Especially getting killed by the schools Faith captain.:wall:
:clown:

Soo sweet that was... Nice friendship between Vampire and Vampire hunter. See Cimmerian. Thats what friend is:beam:

I think I can speak on behalf of most, if not all, the participants in this game: it was absolutely brilliant

One minor complaint: the duration of the night phases. I do know that you guys had alot more writing to do then in a regular game, but it would have been nice to limit the duration of the night phases to 48 hours maximum.

On the other hand, this game was sort of an experiment and I guess you might have underestimated the amount of work.

But this is really my only complaint as a player. Like I said: this game was epic and I'm looking forward to the sequel

Yeah, I'm really sorry about the random length of the night phases - it's just that I ended up having the dead-line at anything between 9:40-11:50PM, so I'd maybe have time to work out where everyone went and what they did before my Mum came upstairs and ranted at me, effectively halting all work for the remainder of the night.
Then the next day I usualy had school, getting home at 4:40PM, just in time to wait around for several hours to get on the (occupied) computer, then doing some schoolwork, then doing the Castle.:shame:
Although, I actualy did Castle-work before schoolwork...

Next time I'll try and get my turn come up during the holidays, so I have more time out those ~24/48 hours where I can actualy work.

Also, thanks to everyone who's complimented the game; it's a big boost to my (bloated yet fragile) ego.
I'm thinking of adding/changing my sig to a %bar of the 'Epicness' of this game. Yes, I say this solely in the hope that it will spark more praise (hint hint), yet think of it this way; the more bloated my ego, the more eager my hosting.:beam:

Raise that percentage up a little more my friend.

You got yourself another praise.

I loved it, and I wish it wouldn't have ended so quickly (It felt quick to me... lol) I guess it was because I couldn't get voted out, it felt quicker then to everyone else (Although I'm not complaining, I loved being almighty!)

Raise that epicness meter some more, it is way to low.

raise the epicness and send me a pm when you start a sequel.

My only complaint is tghe same as Andres the phases were somewhat random (it led to my lynching ) but other than that this game was great and a really good idea.

The epicness meter looks very cool, raise it a bit more for vampires everywhere!

You can thank D4rkmonkey for that (although he's not on the forums), as well as the map from this game and for the next.
I worked out the meter by this;
Good comments = 1
No comments = 0.5
Bad comments = -1

Ended up something like 18 people liked it so did that as a % out of 24. Although I think D4rk added 5% for Myddraal.:2thumbsup:

For anyone who's wondering, an information thread is coming, I've just been busy with schoolwork recently. Expect it before Monday.

You also at one time or another before you changed your signature, Killfrenzy said something about graphics. What does that mean??? Is there going to be pictures of the characters or something???

Yeah I thought it was a great game. I was convinced that Cimmerian was a deamon who had faked his injuries to get into the medical wing.

He was found posing to have been attacked by a vampire. Why would a vampire leave their prey crippled but alive? It didn't make any sense, then he was mysteriously 'dragged away' but not killed...

I do believe that he was talking about his sword that is part of his "Epicness meter"
