Right i've been playing EB for a while now, i have to say it's so much harder than vanilla RTW. Not that this is a bad thing but what really bugs e is the fact that i can' easily retrain my troops, which is a bad thing. basically any pointers on how to run a successful campaign would be much appreciated. thanks

well for retraining your guys...
i usually have ships to transport new units to the front line, and take the battered ones back for retraining. so there's a constant flow of new units coming to the front line to replace the depleted ones.

As are mercenaries and local units. Make use of the whole spectrum. I'm building up an army as the Casse right now with every slot filled by a different unit. And that doesn't even include mercs, just units from different cities on the islands. It's so awesome, there's more than enough to fill the 19 slots (1 for general), the most diverse army I've ever seen. When that thing hits the mainland, there's gonna be hell to pay. Unfortunately (or fortunately?) I just got my third reforms so I'll have to spend some more time and money before moving on.
