Start Up CTDs

I installed (a few times) RTW+1.3+1.5+EB 1 -- all works untill I reach arrow to start EB Main, Custom or Historic, then I get CTDs -- and previous versions worked just fine, Bovie's validation program did not help much I think, it found some 'changed' RTW exe - but that does not matter, EB last version and all other RTW mods worked just fine, still, thank you Bovi:yes: .

Marcus found out that there is no map.rwm in eb/world/maps/base that is created when game starts, so that is the prob (do somebody uploaded his map.rwm, but that should not solve the prob as it is):whip:

I will not that this bug has nothing to do with your RTW ''origins'', or corrupted install (beacause I downloaded EB 1 from 3 different locations), or Intro bug, or missing files exept map.rwm in eb-base folder:furious3:

As I have seen here and on TWc forums, there are many players that heva the same problem, and as the days go there will be more

The changed RomeTW.exe is likely the problem. Install once more from the CD, patch it and then copy the exe file to the installation with EB and you should be okay.

Also, you could try adding " -nm" at the end of the shortcut, without the quotes.

THERE IS A SOLUTION !!!!!!!!!!!:smash:

There is no RTW.exe prob at all, the only thing that was wrong in the whole thin is MISSING MAP.RWM from EB/DATA/WORLD/MAPS/BASE !!

Anyone with the same prob - if you install everything right and you can not play eb main or custom or historic - you should just see if there is no map.rwm in directory above - and there should not be any -

and just copy it to your rtw/eb/data/world/maps/base !!!!!!!

That's odd. The game is supposed to be able to regenerate that at start... It might be trouble later on if you use a map.rwm that is not synchronized with the other game files.

Could you try to rename all the map.rwm files in the structure to something else, for instance map.rwm.backup and then run the game? There are at least three of them, see the ebIgnoreList.txt for where they are. If it crashes again, you should restore the files you renamed of course.

Can I do It later? I would like to do it now but I just Counquerd Epirus and Sparta and Athens, And I am very tierd of the game right now (offcours with Macedon on VH)... god, I was in minus of about 5000 at start...

Anyway, I have some issues as when I exit the game (done that 2 times by now).. I get those messages that certan character is not married and is not faction leader.. etc, so I just change that in desc_start --- like, I replace ''named character'' with ''general'' and the game runs fine,
First time it was ''Euchrous Mitylenaios'' and secon time ''Ikadion Authemisias''
I think i wrote it right!

so that is realy the solution for me,, no other method would help realy --

that should work good for anyone with the same CTDs probs as I had

Of course. You can wait until you encounter a problem you can't get past. It was just for my verification :beam:. Enjoy the game.

Just to note, I had the same prob in my EB 0.81 -- but that is no big deal, I hop as hell I wont get probs I could not solve:yes:

No It wont work, so, I play the game fine with map.rwm, ... and, can you look at my thread in a few minutes, I have something to say about EB 1 -- some questions :whip:
