since destroying temples, tombs got a whole new dimension, i wander if EB team members, or anyone with the knowledge really, could list the temples and tombs that been overhauled.
the name, location, owning faction and looting prize ($$$$) would be useful to know.
thanks

the Hierosolyma Temple is worth 20k, making a sacking tour as Arkhe Seleukeia
a viable option for building early econ

also, tomb of Xerxes?, Cyrus? or some old Persian temple (forget exactly what, looted it last night
;-l ), anyway somewhere in the old Achaemenid lands is also worth 15-25k (forget exactly) and it is in AS starting lands (helps get those early mines up and runnig to support the war with Ptolemaiads and letting u build and support good units while still being able to defend the East against the inevitable Baktrian/Pahlav betrayal)

Evil thread :laugh4: . I always view the benefits of the unique structures more valuable in the long run, than a simple vandalizing and destruction of buildings that cannot be rebuilt.

@hooahguy14- I'm not suggesting that one SHOULD sack the Holy Temple at Jerusalem, merely that classical-era armies often did in fact loot religious/funerary structures of cultures other than their own, either in anger at the defenders or for financial reasons, or some other motivation.

@ EdwardL- I may appear and speak like a civilized being (sometimes), but I'm really just a jumped-up old-time gangster with access to the royal treasury and military machine. Add to that a homicidal attitude and inherent lack of respect for any opposing cultures (anyone my "gang" happens to be at war with at the moment) and you could see why I would sack a royal tomb for cash.

I think that it is amusing how a little education and technological advancement suddenly turns a bunch of homicidal criminals bent on taking over what others have built into a "civilized" culture, which is exactly what most of the megalomaniacs who ruled ancient empires in fact were.:laugh4:

I'm utterly pragmatic, especially in the crucial early stages of the game. If it provides tangible benefits and adds to my glory (read: looks or sounds nice), I'll probably let it be. If it does nothing for me, woe unto it.

I looted the Great Persian Temple of Anahita at Ekbatana really early on as the Pahlava. The resultant mnai was enough to fund construction of a mine.

As the Sweboz I sacked that one unique building in Northwestern Gaul, the one where Celts from around the world can meet without fear.

It was more of an RP thing, sending the message to those Celts that nowhere are they safe and that nothing they own is sacred to the Germanic terror :skull:

thank you Primus Inter Duces, for providing the name of the Great Persian Temple of Anahita (feel so stupid for sacking it and then forgetting the name)

I sacked the Acropolis of Athena after a few years, due to the need for money (20k's worth from that bad boy.) and as a sign to the athenians... rebellion is repaid with the destruction of your most prized posessions. :laugh4:

(as makedonia of course, those pesky athenians like rebellion.)

lol. :beam:

EDIT: Speaking of which, the Lord would probably smite me(at the very least)
if I even thought of destroying the Holy Temple...
