ok just finished an MP game and I was so disgusted by one of my opponents (it was 2vs2) I think I don't want to play for a while. I am pretty much a newbie to mp so tell me if this was my mistake.
ok so we start 2vs2 on a flat map
even at setup my opponent (I won't tell who it was suffice to say it was a member of an established STW clan)
Even at deployment this guy starts whining: "there are too forests", "damn trees" and so on
he had absolutely no cav in his entire army and even used the forest to hide his troops so... Furthermore he could have taken a look at the map before he played.
Anyways, me and my ally were on defence but since the army on the other side didn't move a lot we start marching. Once in range we start shooting with our arbelesters and our opponent with his longbowmen. Suddenly the whiner comes out of the forest on my right flank so I have to re-arrange my line and we once again exchange fire. He makes some feigned charges with his cav which I counter but don't pursue (sorry for all the detail but I want to be sure that I didn't do something dishonorable). So their archers run out of arrows but our arbalesters still have plenty of bolts so we stay put (the terrain was completely flat). So they attack, my knights hit his line in the rear while my light cav chases his archers. Once his troops start routing he starts whining that we are damn campers.By now I was getting pissed off and was beginning to wonder whether I did something dishonorable. I mean why should we have attacked??? It's not that we camped on a mountain or something. Still their side managed to gain the advantage. Next he starts whining about a small lag that happens once. Finally (I and his ally were out) it's just him against my ally, any side could have won but then he starts whining that my ally keeps rallying his troops, which is what you do if you want to win, no? My ally has all cav and he has none so he can't catch up with him. So he leaves and with a parting shot he says that defence should have easily won this battle no mather what thereby insulting me and my ally. wtf?? I this how big clans help newbies and add to an enjoyable game experience??
Or did I really make some big mistakes? Should I have told everyone before the battle "watch out, there are forests"
btw absolutely no offence to the guy allied to the whiner, he played a good game without spoiling it for everyone else
