Need Help!!!!

hi, i bought my MTW + VI somewhere in April 2004 ( if not mistaken). I likes this games very much and recently i have bought MTW2 + Kingdom. As soon as i bought This MTW2 i have ignored MTW. I think this happen to many of u here right?

Ok, I just discover that some of u here have played extra fraction like teutonic order, scottish and i remember that i dont see such fraction in my MTW+VI. And i saw some of the flag banner of certain fraction have changed.. y is that?

so, my question now is do i need to update to the latest patched in order to get those new item??? and if this is true. how many patched r they and where can i get them????

and is the extra fraction & item r part of some mod??? and if true where mod is this?? and where can i get them??? curious here.... plz Help!!!!!!:help:

I believe that the answer to your query is that these additional factions are indeed available via various Mods (XL, BKB, Pocket Mod, etc).

I will defer to my more learned colleagues, but I do believe that if you have VI installed you may not require any further patches before installing your chosen Mod....

Caution sir! :knight: You should definitely install the 2.01 patch after VI in order for your game to act properly and to be able to installed the aforementioned mods.

If you own the gold edition of MTW (with VI bundled) then there's a separate patch available from CA's website.

hi there!!! thx for the comment!!!! i'm downloading patched 2.01 and will install it as soon as i finish download. Do u guyz know how to check if my MTW is up to the patch??

And if i have installed Let said XL mod, maybe a few weeks later i decide to change to other mod. issit possible for me to do so??

Do u guyz know how to check if my MTW is up to the patch??To find out if the patch has installed correctly, simply look in the top left hand corner of the main menu. If the patch has installed correctly, the number should correspond with the version you installed.
And if i have installed Let said XL mod, maybe a few weeks later i decide to change to other mod. issit possible for me to do so??Yep, its possible, although it probably will require a complete re-install, as well as a re-patch, for it to work correctly.

If you have enough disk space, make a full copy of your game folder to install the mod upon.

Yep I do this. I have 3 or 4 copies of the game on my comp. One is a failsafe backup, the next is plain VI, and then the third one i personally mod, tweak and play with. The 4th or more is any mods I've installed (such as XL, BKB, or PocketMod). I have them imbedded into innocuous folders. When I want to play one I pull it out of its folder and have fun, then when I am finished I just put it away.

If I forget to put it away its easy to find what folder it belongs in, I just look for the folder that has nothing in it. I will warn you that this is not a good idea for ppl with small drives, as the games are rather large.

Well, I've played most of them at least a little bit, so perhaps my suggestions won't be too out of place? Personally, I like the XL mod, by VikingHorde, the most of the main medieval age mods. But this is mostly a taste issue. Ultimately, only you can decide which mod is 'best'. BKB's supermod and WesW's medmod are also very good as well, but with different flavors, so to speak. Caravel's Cambyses II's pocket mod is also good, but it is mods much less of the game than the others, hence the name. Just depends on what you like. Furthermore, there are a couple of very good mods for non-medieval period, with my personal favorite of these being the Pike and Musket mod by Cegorach. The Hellas Total War mod was enjoyable as well, but not as much for me, mainly because I don't like the time period and style of warfare as much.

I didn't think I had large hard drives, but maybe I do. I have 2, 40gig drives. In all honesty besides my MTW fetish, the only other game I got on my comp is WoW. MTW does take up alot of space, but since it is really one of the only 2 games I'm playing ATM I dont mind.

I'd go with kamikhaan's suggestions, I am sure his recommendations would be mirrored across most of the players here. I have played BKB, XL, and WesW Medmod, and quite awhile ago. BKB's and XL are almost mind-boggling expansive. MedMod is smaller in scope, but WesW did a fine job at cleaning up alot of AI goofiness. I have heard many times that WesW's MedMod and Caravel's PocketMod have a similar feel, but I haven't tried Pocketmod so cant weigh in on that.

On a completely unrelated note why did Caravel start calling himself Cambyses II? To me he'll always be good ole Caravel. I keep seeing Cambyses II make a post, and I think, 'Who the heck is that?', and, 'Why the heck is Caravel letting that dork mess with his mod?' Then I remember oh yeah Cambyses II is Caravel so its cool, confusing, but cool. Don't mind me I'm just weird.

I got 6 MTW mods on my PC XL, BKB , Fall of Rome is verry good aswell and Age of Warlords but i think BKB is still working for a patch, but you might trye ACIENT Total war from Macsen rufus this is also a really great mod to play i love them all thats way i got so many of them :2thumbsup: :2thumbsup:

Hmm? You should be able to play high and late as well. Are you sure you scrolled all the way down when choosing the campaign? The high and late XL games are very good as well.

Alright, stay calm. :laugh4: Have you made sure there is no bar to scroll down the campaign list, like the one on the faction selection screen? There should be one there that you can use to scroll to the high and late periods.
