Since there are so many topcis around that critize the new EB build - what is nonsene because EB 1.0 is by 99,99999% improvement to an already perfect mod (I think that was now mathematical nonsene) - I would like to say thank you for the new system of Roman gentes. That works absolutly fine, no more fantasy names, no more "funny" names like from Asterix comics; all cognomen are asigned to the correct family (as far as I know) and are passed in the correct way through the generations. Wonderful work! :2thumbsup:

Just one thing (the 0,0000001%, I am sorry). You should make "client ruler" an anti-trait to the Roman offices, to prevent them from becoming Praetor or Quaestor, if it is possible.

That's a good point konny, I'm sure we'll follow your advice on that. Sometimes the ridiculous complexity of our trait system gets the better of us and we get some goofy interactions that we didn't foresee.

See, trolls? this is a good way to offer a suggestion to the EB Team. ( and no, I dont mean the gratuitous praise at the beginning)
There is another one: "uncomfortable supervisor" should also be not available for client ruler since he can't be removed. What I had not seen, but might be a problem as well for them: 'bored'.
I think the bored thing was fixed during beta testing. The uncomfortable supervisor might have been forgotten though. I imagine there are a lot of other traits too that should be disallowed for those guys.

I think bored should be left out, but should be replaced with a trait to simulate the client ruler becoming "bored" of being ruled by you. Or does such a thing already exist? I wouldn't know...~:mecry:
There are all sorts of special traits we can create for the client rulers. Not certain when they will be made though.

I would have thought that that was a fairly obvoius and nessecary one, I men that was the risk of having client rullres, quick and cheap, but if you turn you're atention elsewhere...

What about disloyalty traits that add to unrest and make rebellions more likely to simulate him rebelling against your domination. Or would that just lead to your client ruler getting kicked out?

Sadly yes, but possibly a script could be arranged to kill him off if the province rebels.
Disloyalty traits are not the most far-fetched ones for them, definitely :beam:. I'm fairly sure we can script the killing of the client ruler if he is alive when the settlement becomes owned by rebels, and spawn a new character for the rebels there. He won't have the same traits though, he'd be turning over a new leaf so to speak :beam:.

I'm delighted that the Roman names have been fixed. Although, I would've liked the daughters to have their proper names i.e. a daughter of a Claudian to be called Claudia.
Also, I had a General who was an Aurelian. He had two sons and a daughter. Both his sons were called Aulus. Surely both sons shouldn't be named the same?!?!

If that guy had more than one daughter they would all be called Claudia if it was 100% historical wouldn't they?
As far as I know the names are selected from a list
ie
[first_names]
Bob
Hillary
Bill
Ron
[last_names]
Clinton
Paul
Dole
and the engine will link last names to heritage but it will select randomly between first names so the only way to make Claudia more prominent would be to put her name several times as there is a MAX_NAMES variable I believe. But this wouldn't be linked to Cladius it would be randomly generated

now Bob has a 4/7 chance of being selected as 1/4 previously.
