View Full Version : How to Speed up Turn process?

Hey guys, first off would like to say that EB is awsome. I bought RTW and was disapointed that only the factions of Rome could be played, and how units such as attack dogs were part of the game. EB really turned this game into something extremely fun and informative with the detailed historical events/descriptions for everything!

I am wondering if there is any way to speed up the turn results? When a player ends the turn and waits for the computer AI to cycle through every realm and have their actions deployed. This wasn't much of a problem before but in 1.0 it seems to take anywhere between 45secs-1 min. This isn't a long time, but sitting idle for 1 minute staring at nothing does get annoying. Anyway to make this process instant or faster?

Thanks a lot!

(Sorry if this was answered before, I tried searching through the forums)

More/faster RAM is the only thing I've found...

Hmmm, well I got 2 gigs of Ram. I've noticed 1.0 to randomly be choppy at times and freeze for half a sec durin a battle every once in a while. Never had this happen before, half year old comp.

Unfortuatly, EB takes the engine to its limit, but IIRC there was a good guide hanging around somewhere to make EB run slightly faster. Personally, I find if I restart my computer before loading EB up, it runs alot faster.

Turn off "follow AI characters", that seems to help.

I always turn off my computer when I'm done, so I ussually play EB on a restarted computer. My AI follow is also turned off. It's really not a big deal, just annoying when your playing a nation like Hayasdan and have to spend several turns in a row doing NOTHINg but waiting for mines to be built, and not being able to quickly go through the turns.
