income doesnt increase above $12646

i am AS's protectorate (they are my rulers) and dont get any income even though financial forecast shows a significant increase. Karthage gave me money but as soon as the turn finished it went back to 12646.
i solved the problem by canceling my alliance with AS, still, wander what caused it? why does it happen? never seen anything like this...

If you are a protectorate, they dip into your stored funds. That's not a bug, that's how protectorates work in RTW.

are you sure? i hope that is the cause rather then an annoying bug.
i thought it might be it and thats how i figured it needs to be canceled. didnt realise it actually works that way though. wasnt sure even after playing RTW for 3 years. :laugh4:
so i guess if it works the same way for AI than protectorat is a perfect way to stop it spamming armies and overexpanding. if you only can persuade AI that is:laugh4:

It carries with it the exploit of funnelling the AI bonuses to the human player, unfortunately.

My advice: avoid protectorates like the plague. If you become one, you lose shedloads of money - even after the alliance is broken, which the AI frequently does. If you gain one, then at first you'll gain a ridiculous amount of money (thanks to the money bonuses) but then you'll encounter some annoying bugs on the finance scroll that you simply can't get rid of without starting a new game (AFAIK).

Protectorates are the devil, I tells ya.
