blurry cards

In many and i would say in almost all of the cards that pop when there´s a marriage or some traits have been awarded, the pics are blurry. Has this been done intentionally or is some installation problem?

Are you refering to a photoshop-like effect or pixilization? UIs only work perfectly in RTW if they are 1024x768 resolution, if your resolution is higher many thing will appear blurry.

i havent touched the resolution. it is that way it is when u start the game and i guess it detects your system, isnt it?

Are you sure? I use 1280x960 and my UI is ok.

Marcus is right. RTW's UI wasn't designed for high resolutions. It's no big deal, and theres nothing you can do about it, so you have to accept it :) I was a little disappointed at first too but it's really ok.

I play in 1600x1200 on a 1920x1200 screen, and it looks fine. Unit cards, etc, are stretched pretty badly in 1920x1200, so I opted for 1600x1200 to keep the right aspect ratio. Theres some black area on either side of the screen, but I'd prefer to have the right aspect ratio for the UI. I wonder if this stretching effect is what the original poster is seeing..

I use 1280x1024 and there is some pixellation occuring on the cards. You can still easily make it out though, I dont suppose there would be any fix besides possibly doing your own high res cards or something if you knew how, not worth the effort imho though :)

That's cause you are lucky to have a resolution which is a multiple of the standard RTW measures. (1280=1.25*1024 & 960=1.25*768; you see the factors in bold are equal; hence there is no distortion.)

when i get into the video option the resolution there says 1024X 768 X 16. havent touched it. it´s been like this as default i guess and the cards look like this

the funny thing is that once in a blue moon, a card pops ok but very rarely.

That's a photoshop effect, making it somewhat mosaicky. Most event messages have been retouched, AFAIK.
