View Full Version : Rome Total War "city view" screenshot
I read that in Rome: Total War you can view each settlements in detail and watch the populace walking around, building under construction, and others. I have searched this board for screenshot but couldn't find it.
Any help?

Well, if you want to access it, you go on the Settlement Details panel, and on the bottom left (I think) of the panel there should be three options:
-Make this city your capital
-view trade details
-view city on battlemap; <- this is the one you want.
Hope this helps a bit.

...assuming that Tran has RTW... Actually I shot one in my last EB session but then deleted it, thinking it would be useless. :wall:
Basically it's the same view with the siege/sally battle map with wandering people in the streets instead of fighting warriors. You fly freely atop your town and even go a little beyond. ~:) Nice little feature unfortunately left out in M2.

Ah, of course. If he wanted a screenshot, well... I'm no help there, sorry!
There's a nifty little mod - just a script, really - released in the M2 community that lets you view a city. I know it's in the DLV mod.
Mouzafphaerre is right. I meant not how to view it (I don't have RTW) but rather a screenshot of it (more will be nice though). I want to see it (the unmodded RTW one).
There might be one already posted in the board but I couldn't find any :study:
I doubt there would be too many such screen shots, considering that it was a rather...pointless feature. In my opinion anyway.

Hi Tran,
Perhaps these images, originally posted by monk here (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?p=594548#post594548), will interest you.

All cites were exactly the same, so, after seeing a few, you might as well had seen them all. This lack of individuality also removed the more detailed thought that could have gone into planning siege battles - once one strategy was worked out, it could apply to every single city of your culture group upon the map.
Thank you very much, Omanes
Precisely what I need :2thumbsup:

It would be so awsome if they could apply that to MTW 2 or ETW, since the graphics would be so awsome.

It was a very nice feature. Nothing better than to go into the city view late game and see all that you had achieved. I never did see a fully upgraded city all my games ended before that, but would love to see this return for ETW.
Yup. That'll be great.
Also thank you very much Mouzafphaerre, those are interesting screenshots indeed, something different than the usual Roman. :2thumbsup:
All cites were exactly the same
Are you really sure? I count at least one dozen different factions (with different culture surely) in RTW.

The cities were the same per culture. A british town looks the same as a german one because their culture is barbarian.
In other words, there are as many different cities as there are different cultures.

Plus as many as there are levels: thus 6X6=36 different towns (in theroy), but I can't realy remember to what extent cities change as they increase in population.
IMHO one of the few truly impresive features that M2 added was the increased randomisation in city layouts.
