Rats!!!!

I hope this is cleared out in the patch.

And it could not have happened at a worse time.
My Angevin Empire is under massive pressure. I have been in a costly war with the HRE for a long time (wanted to help out the Danes), the French has resurfaced and finally the Almohads have chrushed three big armies. By the way, after my losses against the Almohads (lost southern France) the French were quick to pounce on me followed by the HRE.
And now I get a Crusade as well, one turn after the Pope specifically wanted a Crusade against the Egyptians.

Hmmm...can Orthodox Factions crusade w/out an order of the Pope?

Otherwise it might be an old Crusade that left its country ages ago and is just making it around to you...

No, I'm English (Angevin, but I think you understood that) and the Italians launched it, that is practically next door, and you do get a warning when it is launched.
Further my good Danish allies, which I saved from the HRE in my great war with them, turned against me because I was now at war with the Italians.
Very odd...

I wonder if I will ever see that Crusade, somehow I hope not, but I have gotten another enemy I do not need.

GAH!

As the Turks, I once managed to stop a crusade cold without ever fighting a single battle. What I did was this: I figured which route they would take by having advanced alims warn me as to their approach. I then stacked 10 alims on the province next to mine several turns before they arrived. Well, the effect was S-W-E-E-T! As it turns out, all these alims were in a Hungarian province. They managed to tip the balance of religion to over 50% muslim before the crusade got there! It was nice because the Hungies had no bishops or cathedrals or anything to keep their catholicism above 50%. So, the crusade lost steam when it got to Hungary. With the loss of manpower, the crusade sat its arse there hoping to recruit men from the large Hungarian garrison. Never happened! To many children of Islam! http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif Their army withered over the next 5 years then disappeared!

GAH!

Love it!
