That's really strange,

I've two Type IV cities of Sardis and Sidon. After my conquest i converted them into Type IV class government and the puppet Tyran has come and etc but...

I can not get out my troops out of city! In Sidon i've got a huge garrison and Ptolemaoi constantly threaten my region from south. If i can not sally my troops then i'm stucked to death.

Is there any people experienced the same issue?

Do you mean you can't sally in a siege or that your garrison can't leave the city on the campaign map?
I can't help you with the first problem, but for the second, make sure you haven't selected the client ruler when you select your garrison. He has -100% movement. Hope this fixes your problem.

I can't sally my troops for a counter attack in a siege and i can't get out my troops from city. I know that client ruler can not leave the city but what's wrong with the troops?

In Sidon there is one client ruler, a general (family) and eight or nine troops. I've tried to get out my general and failed. Tried to troops... Failed again.

General alone, troops alone or with the general. I really don't know what's wrong.

If i make the long story short i cannot leave the city at any conditions and i need any kind of help.

Thx

I have this in massalia -when enemy army is right near city I cannot attack them. In normal cases when you select one unit and attack the enemy near city all other units will join attack-and from my opinion that is the problem- ruler join also battle, but he cannot move so attack cannot be done.....

It's sad because Sidon besieged by a small force of Ptolemaoi first but i could'nt attacked them at the right time and they supplied their army and i'm melting down while i'm waiting the attack.

I must return back one of my old save and see what i can. It's so waste of time :wall:

Or someone tell us what can we do :idea2:

I've never had that problem. I'm not sure what to advise you to do. Did loading a savegame help?

That'll be because you can't order part of a stack to attack and enemy army/city. The whole stack must take part, and if part of it has no movement the attack can't proceed. The answer would be to move everything except the client ruler out of the city and then attack. I expect the client ruler will then show up as a reinforcement in the battle anyway ~;)

Of course, you can't do the above if the city is besieged, so I suppose you must attack with an outside force and have the garrison appear as reinforcements. This presumably hurts the AI on occasion due to having huge garrisons pinned and starved out by little armies.

You could reduce the movement penalty of a client ruler that needs to sally:

Level Type4_Governor
Description Type4_Governor_desc
EffectsDescription Type4_Governor_effects_desc
Threshold 1

Effect MovementPoints -20
Effect Influence 1
Effect Law 1
Effect Defence 1

to

Level Type4_Governor
Description Type4_Governor_desc
EffectsDescription Type4_Governor_effects_desc
Threshold 1

Effect MovementPoints -somethingNotSoBad
Effect Influence 1
Effect Law 1
Effect Defence 1

Just had the same problem.
Playing as the Saba, that city in the north rebelled agains the Ptolemies and joined me. I installed a client king cos I though having a character there would be useful.
The egyptians started a siege a year later, and I can't sally to beat them.
What I've ended up doing is destroying all the buildings I can, so I make a little profit out of it. Hell, it'll probably rebel against them as soon as they take it anyway..

My Parthian client rulers can leave the city, although they don't have as much movement points as a real family member. It is no problem to sally or even attack forces that are not on adjacent fields.

That might be because they also have a trait that boosts their movement points. Probably Youthful especially if the new gov has just been built

anyone know if the above change can be done during a campaign?
even just a bit of movement points arent suddenly gonna make the client rulers worthy army leaders, but it'll at least let them sally. seems like a good fix to me

It should be savegame compatible, yes.

Are you sure? I've tried lots of minor triat fixes in game before, and they all either had no effect on the character and trait, or had some very strange side effects, or often both. Think very carefuly before you do this is my advice. (and take lots and lots of backups)

It will definitely screw up if you remove or add a trait. But merely changing the effect, I *think* is okay. I suppose he'll post back if it turns out it doesn't.

Changing traits is save game compatible (changing ancilleries is not, BTW). But it somehow causes the trait system to mess up. So I won't recommend it, may be delete map.rwm(?) would help that?
