Sup people!!! So I've been playine RTW vanilla for a while, but Im brand new to this whole modding thing and am fairly computer illieterate.

Little info: I have a brand new machine with Vista (I know). Unfortunatley I dont have the old machine (the one with RTW installed) any more and ive lost the install disc. I will be purchasing RTW today and cant wait to play...

The questions:

Does RTW need to be installed BEFORE i download EB? If so why?

Will using Vista present any problems?

Once EB is downloaded, will it incorporate itself into RTW or are there steps I have to take.

Like i said I know almost nothing about about computers and am a complete lamen, so if you guys could bear with me and give me any help possible I would be forever in your debt. THANKS!!!

You can download EB or any mod and save it to disk before installing RTW, you just can't install the mod until you have RTW installed (and patched if necessary)

Vista may present problems - RTW normally wants to be installed in 'program files' folder and vista doesn't like you messing with its 'program files' folders...

Most general installation problems would be discussed in the Colosseum (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/forumdisplay.php?f=32)
look for previous threads about vista in there and ask there if you can't find what you need. (this sub-forum is about making your own mod, not problems loading RTW or existing mods)

If you have any EB specific problems look carefully at the information in their forum (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/forumdisplay.php?f=70), I'm sure they will have covered most topics already.

In future also please try to use thread titles that explain a bit about your question....

Welcome to the forums anyway :beam: :

about installing in "program files" ..

I do run XP, though I never install games in the program files folder, they are always installed on my D-partition (C is for windows and (development)tools) never had an issue with Rome in that department
(and Vista just needs to learn that I'm in control of my system, not MS ..:P)
