View Full Version : Creative Assembly Map editor and opening credits
Is the map editor working properly?
I found it on the menu but when I select, nothing happens. It doesn't highlight or take me to a menu.
Also is there a way to bypass the opening credits and go directly to the main menu?

jagger,
your questions really belong in the tech forum, but since i'm here....
one of the guys found that direct x 8.1 downloaded and installed from the microsoft site caused his map editor to be ghosted out also. when he re-installed using direct x 8.1 off the mtw cd, it fixed it. least i think that's what it was. check the tech forum for that thread.
only way to bypass the credits that i know of currently, isnt really a bypass, it just clicks them off when they show up more quickly than waiting for the timer. just left click on your mouse.
sometimes you can put in a dummy file with the same name as the credits and it will run thru without a problem, and sometimes you can just remove the file completly and have it not show up, but sometimes either of those things will cause a crash. it varies from game to game.

There is a way to turn off the credits without deleting or replacing any files. I amn't going to tell you what it is though... it's an exercise for the reader http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif
