I suppose this is technically a vanilla Rome: Total War problem but I suspect EB might have something to do with it so I'm posting here.

I was playing Europa Barborum version .81, found out that 1.0 had been released and so uninstalled EB and Rome: Total War in preparation for a clean install on which I could install version 1.0 of the mod.

However, now I simply cannot install Rome: Total War. The autorun window pops up normally, I choose install...and nothing happens. I've left the computer, eaten dinner, and come back, all while leaving the program running, and still nothing is happening.

I've tried a registry edit, I've defragmented my disk, I've tried copying all the files off the cds and installing it manually (attempting to copy files off the CD caused my computer to freeze). I've even tried cleaning the damn CD. I have absolutely no idea what's going on.

Keep in mind that I was perfectly capable of playing off the CD just a few days prior, and nothing has happened to it since.

Those directions didn't help me at all. Or did you just mean I should copy/paste this post into that thread?

.
I my case, hunting and exterminating "Activision" and "Rome - Total War" registry entries helped. Not guaranteed but a hope.
