Has anyone tried using a mod folder for RTW 1.5 (not BI)? Somehow it doesn't work for me. I didn't change a single, only placed copied files from vanilla into a new folder. I tried placing all the files that exist in Alexander or BI (but copied from vanilla), still doesn't work. It runs, but every time I start a Custom Battle, it kicks me back to menu.

It works for me  This might help (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showpost.php?p=1129624&postcount=1129624)

I found that when i get a kick back to menu for the mod folder it is becasuse i did not put the name of the mod folder before the directory

It works for most of files, but (as said before) you must change lots of paths in the text files (descr_model_battle for example).

In many of them the path is not complete (e.g. models/textures/mytexture.tga). In those cases you must change it to ../mymod/data/models/textures/mytexture.tga

Just have a look into some other mod using this feature. :idea2:

erm, which .exe are you using to run it? I thought there was a problem with BI.exe running RTW mod folder custom battles but a straight RTW.exe to RTW mod-folder should work.

There was discussion about that here:

Can you elaborate more on this?

I do not think I would need to update any of the text files because when I tested, all the files were vanilla. It's just that they are now in a mod folder. It still kicked me back to menu during a custom battle start.

oh one thing I did find for BI but might be same - is that the mod-folder wants to have folders in /world/maps for 'custom/quick' and 'battle/custom' even if they are just empty - and you need to have made map.rwm in your imperial campaign/base folder before trying custom battle I think
