Just inquiring into the method you'll be using for patching? Will you issue a beta for everyone before Activision's QA group get their 2 week pass/fail period?

If history is anything to go by, beta patches given to the community almost always prove the more successful way to go. Take it from me who's been a beta tester for a few games including v1.02 for STW MI, that this way is usually the better.

Take civ3's awful 1.17f patch for an example! If they'd only released it to the community first they'd have saved the 2 week QA process (which never spots any potential gameplay probs) and the hateful abuse they got for it aswell, plus the major frantic headaches of getting a remedy out quick. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif

Still, i suppose this is up to Activision and not you?

Most of the bugs/tweaks for the new patch are being reported by the community so we're already participating in that matter...but it would be nice to have an open beta or something like V1.02 testing, altough unit balancing doesn't seem to be the biggest issue, yet.

Tera.

I think you need an open beta. A small group can't possibly test all aspects in a short time.
