It seems to me there are seven:dizzy2: :
Barbarian
Carthaginian
Roman
Western Greek
Eastern Greek
Steppe
Eastern
?
I think the Carthaginian culture is actually called Semitic. Could be wrong though.

Not in terms of .txt files I don't think, but anyway, the point stil stands that there seems to be 7, I thought there could only be 6?

Nope, the "engine culture" Carthaginans are the "faction culture" Pontos. EB uses the "classical" Vanilla cultures, but, say the "Romani_SPQR" is now the AS and the "Romani_julii" is the Aedui faction. Got it?
Edit: Oops, a bit off-topic. Sorry guys ... Ehm, what about a "nomadic" culture?
Wuz wrong then.
The steppe is the same as nomadic, although I have no idea which way it's put in the .txts.

Ehhm, no offence but that is wrong: Romans julii are Arche Seleukia, SPQR no longer exists and has been replaced by Saba, and what do you mean by "engine culture" and "faction culture"?

Ooops, meant factions, not cultures. Well, in Vanilla RTW, the "engine" faction was identical with the "game" faction, so:
Carthage = Carthage
Romani_julii = Julii.
In EB, however, all has changed: there's only ONE Roman faction and not four of them. Also, no longer is the this true:
Carthage = Safot Softim biQuarthadast (brrr, spelling).
Take a look at the "descr_strat" in the file "...\EB\Data\world\maps\campaign\imperial_campaign".
AGAIN, sorry, this is off-topic. Accept my apologies for meddling into your discussion.
For cultures: "...\EB\Data\descr_cultures".

Barbarian (Aedui, Arverni, Casse, Getai, Lusotannan, Sweboz)
Semitic (Carthage, Saba)
Roman (Romani)
Western Greek (Koninon Hellenon, Makedonia, Epeiros)
Eastern Greek (Baktria, Ptolemaioi, Seleukeia)
Steppe (Saka, Sauromatae)
Eastern (Pontos, Pahlav, Hayasdan)
I corrected one above, but yes, those are what we use.
Amongst other things, culture groups determine the graphical interface you have for the game.
Does that mean I was right after all?

Yes, you were. Actually you were both right in that case - the internal name used by the game is carthaginian much in the same way the internal name for the Romani is seleucids, the cultures grouped under that EB refers to as "semitic."

You can have seven cultures max in RTW (and M2TW, incidentally).
Yes, you were.
