Running EB on Alex 1.9 [Archive]

Right, if you've been reading the balloon thread, you may have noticed that me and Malik of Sindh are computer zombies :laugh4: . Well, it seems my mother has decided im a bit too much of a computer zombie, and has taken away my RTW disk, and being a Gold Edition, this means no 1.5 or 1.6 to run EB on :furious3: :furious3: :furious3: . Somehow though, she missed the Alexander disk which was sitting right next to it :yes: . As it is now, my Alexander disk will stay locked away in a safe, which only I know the code to, and only come out when I need my daily fix of EB.

So, my question is, what are the advantages/disadvantages of running EB on 1.9? Do I still get the improved naval invasions and shield wall from 1.6? And what steps do I need to take to be able to have custom battles and what not? The same as for 1.6 and just re-name the this i need to re-name alexander_campaign as opposed to barbarian_invasion?

I don't know about naval invasions but alex is reputed to have a better working diplomacy system than both RTW and BI...
Since I got it I would also be interested in knowing...

AFAIK, no sane person has ever run EB on Alexander. I have no idea whether it works or not. It's not supported anyway.

Someone made a post on how to get EB to work on 1.9 in the subforum section. It was many months ago and was for 08x, but if you search for it, you may find some clues.

'Oops' is pretty much all I could say, as you can't retract PM's.:shrug:

Oh well, I hope I didn't upset the natural balance of things. Maybe Foot was lonely that day and found the PM in his box a delightful surprise? Hmmm, something tells me that wasn't the case, but he was cordial nonetheless. :laugh4:

You know Admetos....I hear rumours of magical toys that help people like yourself run the game without a disk, however I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be allowed to give any specific information on here.
Still, perhaps a trip to google is in order if you don't have any luck with Alexander.

Lol mothers :laugh4: I'm 28 and my mother still wonders what went wrong in my upbringing. She's like "You're still playing computer games, when are you going to grow up?" Then I'll retort "I'll maybe stop when Skuli (my older brother) stops playing golf"

Luckily my wife plays Sims so at least she understands me :yes:

My mother and her husband are both in their mid/late thirties and they both play video games. :P
