I'm utterly stumped by people who, against all evidence and reason, still believe the 9/11 attacks were somehow orchestrated by our own government.

Occam's Razor tears them to shreds.

You mean it wasn't black Jewish homosexual rebellious female liberal neocon zealous fighter pilot government officials who double as demolition experts who did 9-11?

You´re forgetting the NSA....

kudos to Clinton for responding like that.

For God's sake, how else should he have reacted? If it had been orchestrated by the US Govt, that would mean his administration, of course. So what are we applauding? Even as a conservative American, I've warmed up quite a bit to Bill's ex-presidency, but this is like congratulating someone making a very safe right turn on a backstreet.

Endemic to politics I'm afraid. It's like so many politicians coming up with hollow phrases, 'When I'm elected I'll strengthen the economy', 'I'll do my best to protect the troops wherever', with their voters lapping it up... it's as if it's some kind of unique selling point, but you never really see anyone saying any different...

Well, for me this shows why I like Clinton so much. The whole clip is only six seconds long. And that short time-span, and three words repeated twice with the best intonation in the English speaking world, were all he needed to put these God-awful conspiracy-hecklers in their place.

No, Clinton couldn't have done anything else. But style has to count for something. :2thumbsup:

I miss having a President who could handle the English language. Every time I hear another world leader speak, I seethe with jealousy. Oh well, at least most of the current candidates for President can find their way around a sentence.

True.. but I can't imagine Clinton on the rubble of 9/11. That was a Bush high point if there ever was one. Even after all thats gone down, that's still a proud moment.

He's good at the occasional "we're gonna kick some..." speech. :2thumbsup:

yeah...he´s really good at speeches..

I recall one in the deck of an aircraft carrier that was a real doozie...:laugh4:

now...what was it about?...I can´t seem to remember....something to the effect of "it´s over and we´ve won" or something :book:

All the conspiracy people say it's Bush's administration from what I've heard. Haven't really heard anyone blame Clinton. :dizzy2:

To me it sounded like he thinks that not even Bush would do something like that. If that's the case, he just shows some respect and honesty towards someone on the other side of the political spectrum, someone you could say is his political enemy(even though neither Bill nor his wife actually competed with him directly). I think what you can applaud is that he doesn't blame it all on Bush, instead he sort of defends Bush, that's something you cannot expect from all politicans I guess.

Have you ever seen our PM Balkenende try to speak in English? It will make your toes curl.

I guess in a way that makes it kind of sad- that our current politicians are so whacked out that we feel the need to congratulate one for making the political equivalent of a successful lane change. :sweatdrop:

Now tribesy, or tribesbibble if you like, just because you do doesn't mean everyone else does. ~;p It's called diversity; we can't all be tying up the phone lines calling ma and pa, can we? We wouldn't want to stop you from getting through, now would we?

Prole - when you look at the loony base of the dems inhabiting dailykos and the like that scream about betrayal when that congressman apologized for saying Bush got amusement from dying US soldiers, it becomes a bit more of an accomplishment.

It seems that President Clinton, even when doing a good thing, is as divisive as ever.
