Q: I have read somewhere about destroying an enemy tile. I was guessing it was when an opposing force turns your tile black during a siege. Is that something the player can do? Are some tiles worth more money than others?

Q: I've been landing on the eastern coast of Italy and dropping off a stack of dudes and some elephants, ransacking a city and destroying all the infrastructure then bailing like a pirate, only to send a spy in a few turns later to find everything rebuilt again. I'm fine with that, but does enslaving the population lead to increased wealth in my cities? I need the people for troops, but does my new higher population also increase the tax base?

Last Q: I have Macedonia down to Lesbos and force diplomacied a Protectorate status on them, but I would like them to expand as a buffer against Ptol. and A.S. They have a stack and a half of decent troops and 4 generals and aren't doing anything with it. Is there a way to encourage them? I was thinking to force-diplomacy an alliance and also free passage of troops instead of the full-monty protectoratism-istic-ness. What say the EB gods??

To get them to expand will be tricky; and failure is almost guaranteed. Protectorates simply are a lazy bunch.

However.

You could come to a diplomatic arangement by which you give them a couple of provinces to rule over (so you expand where you want your Protectorate to expand to; and then give those regions to the Protectorate).

You could try and buy them into waging war. (Long term tributes seem the surest way.)

But still.

Succes is not guaranteed.

Not being an EB myself I would advise you to force diplomacy to your protected one attack your enimies, if there are no enimies (only eleutheroi) nearby make your sugested steps and force diplomacy them to attack your enimies
