Is it possible to script a war between roman factions? Or will the script just not work?
Thanks
A script can be used to create a state of war between any two factions.

Ok, so its possible to trigger the civi lwars with a script then?
Good, so my second question, can roman factions have different cultures and still function normaly?
Thanks
Ohh, and just incase your intersted in why I want to know, it is to try and represent the Seleukidai, Baktriai and Indo hellenics.
If you mean "Can you change the culture of the the 4 vanilla RTW roman factions?", the answer is yes. See here (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=63904).

yes and no to your questions, the romans have hardcoded features that are linked to both the specific factions and being Roman ..
If you make other Roman and/or belong the Senate you'll quickly find out there are diff. between the 2 ....

There is nothing special about the roman factions that can't be undone. Removing the Senate from the game and renaming the romans_senate faction takes care of most of them.

I havent made any statement about that, just saying there are "special" things connected to the 4 vanilla Roman factions and the Roman culture ......

Both Attilius and Red Spot are right depending on what Pharnakes means with "function normaly".
The war state induced by script doesn't last long if there aren't other circumstances involved to keep that situation. For example, giving a settlement of one faction (with that default culture) to the other one.

Ok, slightly more detail.
In the mod we are attempting to portray the power balance between the Seleukids, Baktrians and Indo-Hellenics. Therefore it seemed like a good idea to use the vannila roman system as Baktria and the Indo-Hellenics start out as Seleukid satrapies. However we would idealy have the Seleukids and Baktrians as culture group Eastern Greek, and the Indo-Hellenics with their own special culture.
Therefore this presents a few questions, which, as I have no acces to a "RTWable" computer, I cannot answer, so I asked here. These questions are:
1. Is it possible to force a war between roman factions (as the civil war did not occur in vannila unless one roman faction was human controled)
2. Is it possible for two of the roman factions to have a different culture to the third, and have the whole forced alliance thing will still work?
3. Am I right in thinking that if you mod the romans at all, the Senate faction will give out one mission and then shut up? (This seems to be what happened with the SPQR mod).
4. Not really and issue if the answer to 3. is yes, but how does the senate choose missions? I am not looking for specifics which I am sure are not know in detail, but does anyone have a rough idea how it goes about this?
Thanks

You'll have roman offices as well as missions then.

I thought if you used the superfaction tab, then that faction effectivley became the sentate, in all paticulars?
Also, if the answer to that is no, how many factions can be dependent on a super faction?
Thanks

We (at Iberia Total War) have been using the tag superfaction for many of the factions in a campaign.
The objective was to make them less expansive, and more defensive (as happens with romans_senate). It makes also some special links between the factions involved, as the "infrafaction" is not prone to attack its superfaction. Even it is possible to make a faction superfaction of itself.
However, this produces some CTD problems and other annoying questions (messages of outlaw a roman faction when it was not included in the superfaction system), probably because this tag was only designed for romans_senate, and finally we have reduced its use to the minimum.

you can make everyone part of the super-faction, wich again will than show that it doesnt "really" work on other factions as it does on the vanilla Romans (or cherry Romans ....) as they may end up declaring war on like the 2nd turn ... (the most important exception is the one Monkwarrior pointed out, they are less likely to attack the superfaction, but a superfaction that cant be maintained cause all subfactions declare war on each other whenever they feel like and with that break the alliances that basicly make(the feel) of the superfaction (imo))
