How do you transfer the province-retinue for Roman characters? In other words, how do you make f.e. another character Governor of Sicilia? You're supposed to transfer the ancilliary to another character, but I'm quite doubting how to do that.

An as an extra question: is there a list somewhere that says what province-retinues there are available?

Have two guys in one town. Open the governor's details scroll. Click and drag the province ancillary icon to the other general's card at the bottom. If they other guy doesn't already have 8 ancillaries, he will get the icon/ancillary.

is this also possible for other ancillaries?

Yeah, it's a good old RTW trick to unload all the crappy ancillaries on an old geezer that's about to die.

Many others but not all (like the ones you get the first turn you have that character [family retainer, etc]).

It's kind of ridiculous, really, how many "secrets" there are to the game that you don't find out about except by accident ages later. For example, I didn't know you could order units to preserve their facing when issuing a move order by Alt-Clicking until, oh, three weeks ago. And I've had Rome since it was originally released. :wall: I think I saw mention the other day of someone saying you can assassinate your own characters by alt-clicking on them with an assassin on the campaign map, as well, but I have yet to attempt and verify this (because I don't build assassins anyway).

Cheers.

Those two I had allready found out about :laugh4:

Anybody yet a clue where to find out which provinces will make those ancillaries pop up?

There indeed seems to be no ancillary for a governor in Mediolanum (Galli Cisalpina).

I got the Gallia Cisalpina ancillary for a character who was based in Patavium..

What gov-buildings did you build in Segesta, Bononia, Patavium and Mediolanum?

From what Zaknafein told me a few days ago concerning "Sicilia", I'd guess all of them were either gov2 or gov3.

Lvl 1 in Segesta, and Lvl 3 in the others. Gonna build Lvl 1 in Patavium and Bononia after Polybian reforms though.

I probably never got the galli cisalpina ancillary because I built gov1 straight away where possible.

i too built the level 1 gov and didn't get the governor of gallia cisalpina ancillary. but that shouldn't be a problem becuase the code only restricts it to a gov level above type 4!
