I'm trying to make a true Tercio type infantry with pikes and muskets. I get a crash at launch when I try to make the change in battles_modelsdb, and i'm unsure how to set it up. Right now i'm trying:

9 MTW2_Pike
16 MTW2_Fast_Musket
17 MTW2_Pike_primary
14 fs_test_shield 2
19 MTW2_Musket_Primary 1

this is crashing. I've tried many combinations, none have worked. I can get it to work if I take out 9 MTW2_Pike, but this makes it so they no longer fight with pike, and instead draw swords when charged, when they don't have swords in the edu or the bmdb. Any help from one of you wizards would be appreciated.

I don't think it works that way. I think the lines like:

16 MTW2_Fast_Musket

are the animations that the soldier model uses but the model itself has the weapons it uses. So the musketeer model doesn't have a pike so it can't use those animations and the pikeman model doesn't have a musket so it can't use the musket ones.

I think the only way to do it would be with the formations file trying to get a formation where the musketeers and pikes are formed up as a group. Never edited the formations file though so don't know if possible.

I believe you need to have:

because every attachment pair (pike/shield, musket/nothing) must be specified.

Anyway look at musketeers are defined.
