View Full Version : How do you make the AI stop using guard mode?

I've noticed that the AI uses guard mode a lot for various units such as hoplites and Roman infantry. I'd like to turn this off if possible, as they fight far worse with it on (and sometimes don't fight at all, preferring just to stand there and die). Now I realize that there may have been a reason for this, but I would like the AI to stop using it if possible. I enjoy challenges, and guard mode makes it too easy.

I might be compeltly wrong, but I think it is stored in the battle formation file.

I have never seen AI use guard mode with hoplites. That of course doesn't mean they don't use it at all, only that I haven't seen it.

Well... I haven't played hellenic faction with 1.0, so let's say I haven't seen AI use guard mode with hoplites in 0.81.
