Not sure how many people are aware of this, but stone forts don't work in kingdoms, its a bug according to someone from CA which is fair enough.
Rhedd got some screenshots of some & posted them here Thread (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=92844&highlight=forts)
Thing is has anyone been able to get them working?
This maybe a mod forum post, but I thought that people may want to take a look at the screenshots, and perhaps there are some gifted individuals who know how to get the forts working that don't read the modding forums and that could possibly explain how.
I've had no luck, yet. Sorry.
They should be ashamed of themselves for even considering not releasing a patch for Kingdoms, if only because of this.

All the things I tried simply crashed the game, but then ignorance and blind faith isn't a good starting point.
Its a real downer because those forts would change the entire game dynamic
They can't be fixed via modding.
They can't be fixed via modding. That's what I was starting to figure, and I'm very glad to have it confirmed so that I won't waste any more of my time.
Thank you.
However, I can't possibly think of a single statement that would better explain why a patch MUST BE RELEASED FOR KINGDOMS.
I don't usually get all uptight about the horrible business practices of our fine industry, but this downhill slide must stop.
Stage 1: Release products that work as advertised.
Stage 2: Release products that don't work as advertised, but make patches that fix them.
Stage 3: Release products that don't work as advertised. Period.
What's stage 4 going to be, just taking money and providing no product at all?
It's far too late for poor stage 1, but stop the madness at stage 2, please.

I remember a review a few years back about some budget redneck big rig truck racing game. It was not even a finished project I can't imagine how it got released. It has no AI (not as in bad, but as in literally not present), no sound, no clipping (collision detection), and no gameplay. Its supposed to be a racing game where you race another trucker to get cargo someplace first while avoiding the police, none of that works, your competitor stands on the starting line, there is no cargo, and no police, all you can do is wander around the map, or off the edge of it into the ether.
Ah - here it is, entertaining read. http://www.gamespot.com/pc/driving/bigrigsotrr/review.html
Just how bad is Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing? It's as bad as your mind will allow you to comprehend.
It's funny as I've just been learning about these laws at school, what they have done is illegal (in the UK) under the Trade Descriptions Act, so someone could take them to court if they could be bothered.
Edit: please don't take this as a CA bashing post, I would never dream of doing such a thing.

zxiang got 2 of them working !
BTW I agree (ofc) that it should be patched, better still, working from the start.

I had no idea about this bug until I read about it. (and eventually tested it on the crusades campaign) well this is more than enough to convince me that they need some sort of patch for kingdoms (evan if it's just to fix that)
