Hello modeling community.
I am new to modeling, so please excuse my noobness.
I have recently been trying to create a new model with 3 varients of weapons and 3 variants of shields. However, when I load them up in custom battles there is a very big problem...they are half invisible!
The steps I took for creating the unit were:
1) I opened up two models in milkshape deleted everything inside the model (inc skeleton), except the weapons and sheid I want. Save them.
2) I then opened up another model and deleted the variants of body parts, except 1 head, 1 torso, 1 legs, 1 arms, hands, teeth, weapon, shield. Saved it
3) I then merged the two files with just weapons and shields into the file with the body parts etc
4) I opened up the new merged file in milkshape, and assigned the new weapons and shields to the correct joints. I saved it.
5) I opened the new file in LithUnwrap, layed out the new UV maps, saved two copies of it as tga's (one for weaps, one for body), and then saved a new model file from it.
6) I opened the new tga files in photoshop, saved them as .dds and saved a new DDS (the same size as the others) that was completley black.
7) I opened up the weaps and body.dds in PS and edited it. Saved, then converted to .texture.
7) I opened up the model file that I had saved from LithUnwrap, in milkshape, added all the comments, and double checked I had no vertexes unassigned to joints. I saved.
8) I then went to the materials tab and applied the completely black DDS to both the figure and attachments. I saved and converted to .mesh.
9) I edited the model DB file with my new entries, put the .texture's and the .mesh into their correct folders and started up the game.
10) Half Invisible units
Would one of you guys please take a look at the files, and tell me what I have done wrong, as I have no clue what-so-ever. I've checked the comments and they all seem to be fine.
