I believe they are even accepting members.

Sharpen your swords and polish your armor, boys!

The Templars died some 700 years ago, I personally don't agree with trying to copy them (some still are members of the Hospitallers and have Chev. in front of their names)

But it seems nice! http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif Probably you gotta pay some good bucks I think, though (?).

The way I heard it, the Templars weren't all caught in the great purge. Some survived, often hidden by their brother orders, and so the Templars have continued down to the present day. I've got a friend who's a Templar.

The Teutonic order still exists too, but it's no longer a military order http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif

Here's a quote from their site...

"THERE IS NO PROOF OF DIRECT CONNECTION BETWEEN THE ANCIENT ORDER AND THE MODERN ORDER KNOWN TO DAY AS THE KNIGHTS TEMPLAR ."

The only officially existing order (beside the non-military teutonic)is the maltese. They posseses even sovereignty which is officially recognized by many countries (including the papacy).

Until 1309 know as Hospitallers, today Order of the Knights of Malta.

You can call me Chevalier! http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/wink.gif

Yes, they still exist and keep the name Order of St John / Knights of Malta - their headquarters are in Rome and they still do 'hospital' work and charity.

Freemasons have their foundations in the Templar type organisations...if you go to a graveyard in England and check some of the head stones you may see evidence of belonging..

Monsta's uncle was Freemason and on his head stone and on his coffin were emblems of their 'order'...these emblems were very similiar to the Templar's symbols used when their members were buried.

Skull..was one of these.
