Re-emerging Factions and Diplomacy

I am playing the English. For some reason my allies the Spanish attacked in Aquataine. I fought off the attack and went after them in Aragon. I beat their field army and laid siege to the castle. Then the Aragon Faction re-emerged. They had an army of 200 Royal Knights, 400 Feudal Knights, 200 Feudal Foot Knights, and approx 2000 other infantry. In the Diplomacy it showed me being at war with Aragon. Well I decided to move my army from the province and let the Spanish deal with it. Aragon captured the province, and since my troops were not their I noticed that I was no longer at war with them - no diplomacy took place. In any event I enlisted them as an ally against the Spanish, we will see what happens.

ahhh this could be a very important break through tn the ongoing re-emergence complaining! Personally i love it, but many have complained about the lack of warning and the tough stacks that arrive.

So, you've found that if you retreat from the province they appear in then they become neutral to you?

Yes they started out being at war with me. But I let them have the province and they turned neutral. Now the Spanish were still besieged in the castle and Aragon took the castle and were still at war with the Spanish after they took it.
