According to the wonderful Recruitment Viewer, the Lusotannan can recruit Ambakaro Epones with a Level 5 factional MIC in Turdulia/Sucum Murgi, and Iberi Lanceari with a Level 5 Factional MIC in Turdetania/Gader and Bastetania/Mastia. They can also recruit Brihentin in Volcallra/Tolosa and Aquitae/Burdigala, also at Level 5 Factional MICs. However, these provinces are all "Subjugation" provinces for the Lusotannan, meaning no Type I governments, and thus no Level 5 Factional MICs. Am I horribly, horribly confused?

Cheers.

I'm pretty sure I built Type I in Sucum Murgi. :rolleyes3:

Tolosa and Burdigala are subjugation towns. So are the two southernmost (former ~D) Kart-Hadasti ones. Massalia allows Types III or IV.

Sucum Murgi definitely maxes out at Type II (although the adjacent settlement on its right, Baikor, is a Homeland Province). My main point is, why are Level 5 FMIC units listed in the recruitment viewer if you cannot, in fact, build a Level 5 FMIC in any of the provinces I listed above? Alternatively, are the Lusotannan unique in being able to build Level 5 FMICs in Type II government provinces? Alternatively to that, is the recruitment viewer in error, and the units listed above actually need only a Level 4 FMIC?

Cheers.

Same yogurt but a different flavor. To sum up there is a known problem with a handful of elite native unit having a different recruiting range then their factions homeland. I personally know of examples occurring for Getai, Baktria, and Lsuotannan. I think its one of those cases of right hand not knowing what the left hand is doing. Which I guess with a project as magnificent and huge as EB a few hickups are to be expected. Maybe a member of the EB team could enlighten us to if this has already been resolved in the internal builds?

Things like this can happen for few reasons.
Some of them can be bugs.
Some are caused by splitting MIC to Native and Local branch.
For units that are recruitable by many factions its just more convenient to define one area of recruitment and apply them to all factions (if there are no historical reasons to do otherwise).
Then the homeland/expansion province type distribution just filters where given unit can be recruited by specific faction.
As You can imagine changing one recruitment zone is much easier then changing 20 of them for every faction.

Recruitment Viewer was designed as graphical tool for showing recruitment.
Because of this it doesnt hide inconsistencies like this. It shows them so we can track them and decide if its a bug and needs fixing or is it just make like this for convenance.

I checked in-game and Sucum Murgi has homeland/type I. Something must be messed up in your files.

Huh. So it is. You would think I would have noticed that, given that I even built a Type I government there. :wall: I suppose that is another point in which the recruitment viewer misleads.

Speaking of which, the recruitment viewer shows that Baktria can recruit Hellenic Royal Guards in Babylon, Seleukeia, and Alexandreia(Egypt) in FMIC lvl 5, yet those are all type 2 gov'ts only. I suppose, for Baktria, they aren't meant to be recruited there, but only in the Baktrian home province.

Ah well, no complaints. I'm having a GREAT campaign. Thx, EB.
