Hello all and before I get started on some questions I want to thank the eb team on the best game mod ever.:juggle2: :balloon2: :juggle2: :balloon2:
1 Well the first question is why don't the getai have oppida walls? And I thought the getai had very strong fortifications exspecially up in the carpathian montains if I am not mistaken.
2 The second part to that question is if they don't why not and can somebody tell me how to script or modd that feature in for them so that they can have the oppida?
3 can sombody explain what mic stands for in the eb recruitment viewer and why are they labled native, regional, 21, and 7? Do they stand for type 1,2,3,and 4 goverments? I would really appreciate some answers please.......:help: :dizzy2:

:laugh4: Some high quality spam today,Glenn.
Anywai MIC means "military industry complex",in short, its your barracks.Native mic is where you recruit your own roster troops, and regional is where you recruit the troops from the region, like greeks recruting thracians in regional mic.

Getai do get Oppida. But they're called Teichos Keltikon.

I've got lots of them in my EB 1.0 Getai campaign

Yes. Historically, the Getai had special "home-grown" walls, which the Romans called Murus Dacicus.

what does the 7 and 21 stand for?
I was asking the mic levels because I was trying to figure out what foreign troops I wanted to build for example bosporian archers (sp) elite thracian rhomphai and the scordici elite troops so I wanted to know where and what type of gov I need to build in order to get them so I was looking at the recruitment guide.:help: and I appreciate the reply about the oppida...... I was asking the question because I did not see it in my building browser.

The building browser sucks. Damn near the only thing it's good for in EB is checking out the bonuses of higher-level temples.

Basic rule of thumb with the MICs is that the higher the "number" of your gov type (ie. the looser the region is affiliated with your empire proper) the higher the limit on the Regional MICs you can build, and the lower the limit on your Factional MICs. And vice versa. IIRC with most factions you can't actually even build Factional MICs beyond the first level with govs 3 and 4...

And when in doubt quicksave and the add_money and process_cq <settlement> cheats are your friend for finding out the recruitement potentials of a province.

So what do I need in order to build the oppida in my capital? mind you I am only 5 turns into the game. Does it need any prerequisets (Sp) or do I just need to build the next available wall and or wait for my population to grow?

P.S. Thanks watchman for the reply:juggle2:

And it doesn't even do that, the highest level isn't included.

Yes but JMRC's building trees are in the documentation folder and definitely worth checking out.

True, but that doesn't show the bonuses the temple types give.

Does it need any prerequisets (Sp) or do I just need to build the next available wall and or wait for my population to grow? You need a large enough settlement - "minor city" or thereabouts, I think. Same as stone walls in general.

And it doesn't even do that, the highest level isn't included.True enough, but IMHO you get a decent enough general idea of what to expect from the top level through the browser. It's useful for deciding what temple line suits your long-term plans for the town in question methinks.

Which said, way back in 0.8x the first time I realized the top level of those morale-boosting war-goddess temples actually netted troops trained in the settlement an exp level I pretty much had to change my underwear... :sweatdrop:

You need level 4 local MIC in the Thracian provinces to get Rhomphiaphori.

Bosphoran Archer guys need level 3 Regional MIC in the Bosphoran cities.

Both are awesome :D

In the recruitment viewer 7 = local, 21 = regional.

hey thanks hoom but what type of goverments do I need to install. For example whats gov system should I have in thraikia hypertera for the elite rhomphai, what gov should I install in mikra skythia for bosphorian archers and last but not least what gov do I need to have in scourcouw for the scordisci elite infantry. So what goverments should I have to get these troops and benifit my nation the most. Also do I need some type of reform to get the scordisci (just asking because I will build both the native and the regional MIC up all the way I just want to know the type of gov to install please:help:

What government you have affects what levels of regional & factional (sorry 7= faction not local) MIC you can build up.
This is something I've only recently really gotten my head around (along with the Recruitment Viewer) so I may be off here.

You need a Type 4 government to get level 5 Regional MIC but if you have that government you can only build a level 2 Factional MIC.
Likewise for a Type 1 government you can build level 5 Factional MIC but only level 2 Regional MIC.

As mentioned by Redmeth (& I've only just looked), in the "<path>/EB/documentation/JMRC Building Trees" folder, there are a bunch of .pdf files showing the build trees for each faction, they have colour coded indicators of what can be built with which government type.
These are excellent & well worth investigating

The recruitment viewer says the Scordisci need a level 5 Regional MIC so you're going to need a Type 4 government to get them. (dunno if you can change to other government after building the level 5 & still recruit?)

Hmm, hadn't noticed you can build the Bosphoran Archers in Mikra Skythia :balloon2: recruitment viewer says level 3 Regional MIC so you can get this with Type 2,3 or 4 Government. (I've currently got a Type 1 there so will be changing this)

For Rhomphiaphori you need a Level 4 Factional MIC so Type 1 or 2 Government.

I have no idea how to tell what units need reforms.
