I tried several times to start a campaign on the new 1.0 build, but I get a CTD everytime. I put in all the fixes and still nothing. I'm not using any unofficial mods. Any idea what might be causing it?

Please try the checklist in the EB installation validation thread.

_Install RTW and EB once again, from scratch
-tried

_ Install using 7-zip rather than installer
-no idea how to do this

_ Download a map.rwm file and place it in eb/data/world/maps/base (requires both the disaster and Oppida permanent fixes)
-did this
_ Add -nm to the shortcut
-no idea how to do this one

_ Delete some interfering files that Vista hides in its bowels
-not running on vista

_ Run the validation tool to diagnose the problem
-did this

_ Install the fixes linked in my sig
-did this

_ Add more swap space in Windows, and other technical measures you can take
-the link for this one was broken, so i havent tried it

_ Using RTW Gold? Try to uninstall everything and do not install BI
-not using RTW Gold

_ Got an ATI Radeon X700 graphics card? Apparently some setting called "Support DXT textures format" is creating problems. Try to change this setting for the driver called "Support DXT textures format".
-not using that graphics card

Download 7-zip, then run that program and open the installer file with it. Click extract and choose your RTW directory.

_ Add -nm to the shortcut
-no idea how to do this one

You see your EB shortcut, right? Right-click that and choose Properties. Add " -nm" to the Target line.

_ Run the validation tool to diagnose the problem
-did this

And what did it say?

_ Add more swap space in Windows, and other technical measures you can take
-the link for this one was broken, so i havent tried it

The link works for me, perhaps TWC was down at the time. Please try again.

I see in another thread that you have a really old graphics card. You should try to borrow another graphics card to see if it works better. You may benefit from upgrading your graphics card for many other games anyway. This is the most likely problem.
