The Makedonian History Page greeted me with this
There are NO people around who have the guts to write a Makedonian history!!
Can someone tell me where the old one is.:help:

Old one? There never was one.
I'll accept that, despite the fact that every other faction has one and I part of my brain tells me I think I read one at some point, or maybe that was just the faction description or the history of Epeiros;

All that will be explained in the "WIP" Makedonian history.

I always got this vibe that EB has dealt with Pan-slavist trolls in the past and they really want to keep the heat off them in that one particular case .

I was just so sure that I had read a Makedonian History page. :embarassed:
And also mildly confused my about why it would not have one; apart from the fact that no-one had written it; which really isn't a bad thing; because that could have potentially caused and chain reaction which ended in EB1 being released in an alternate universe.

Were the Makedonians uncouth old style dorians, or were they uncouth thraco-illyrians wanna be greeks?
It could end up like IMDB when Alexander was released. Pages and pages of uninteresting litanies of insults and sophistry over Alexander's genetic ancestry and sexual orientation.

We all suffer from bigotry on a daily basis. We don't need this here, in a mod community who promotes a multi-ethnic and balanced approach to history through a game.

Indeed Dominique . Me being black (but Ethiopian which changes my prospective on ALOT of things black related.) gets grubby afrocentric hands trying to grab me and pull me into there supposed "true history" .

I sympathise. For a reason or another, when I disclose my ethnic background on forums I get a lot of pulling and shouting by people who want to make me fit into THEIR paradigms.

Truth needn't be falsified. Sometimes, by all the bitching and moaning some people do, they succeed to "cast shadows" on a very important fact.
Slavs didn't enter the area for 1000 years AFTER EB game start.. Try as they might they cannot change that small, simple, irritating fact. This is the truth people. The simple truth. No amount of bickering, yelling, bitching and moaning, networking or "let's all be friends"-ing can change that.
I don't blame them though. Their leaders find it easier to turn them against the truth, easier than facing their own problems.

I know of the conflict, I know how it is a big bunch of flag-waving Balkan-ish bull excrement, and I know there are trollish characters like that out there in the internet, even perhaps here in Gahland.
...but I don't see them in this thread yet, so no need for the aggression guys.
I thought there was a thread about this quite some time ago and the answer was "work in progress"?

:beam: I'm half Macedonian.. Alexander was a Slav I tells ya! :no: He just came faster into the region then the rest of the Slavs, you know Alexander always ahaid of the others. Seriously though, the main question is whether the Makedonians were Dorian speaking Greeks or a different ethnic group Who gives a fudge though haha :laugh4: But then again it would be sweet to call myself a half-Belgian, half-macedonian.. Beat that hehe

Search for some earliest voice-mod or ancient Greek pronunciation related/infested threads back in...like 2005 - early 2006. You'll find your nationalist trolls. Please don't bump if you find anything that remained unlocked though.
That's, at least, the EB related part. Dive into the Monastery archives and you'll find the real stuff. :laugh4:
As for this thread, I agree. Let's please keep it clean and let the bibliographically supportable knowledge speak. :yes:
