View Full Version : Gladiator rebellion?
I've never played Rome to 14 A.D., so this may be moot, but has any developer investigated a situation to mimic Spartacus' army? He was alive during the game's time frame, and had over 100,000 soldiers at one time. Might be a cool addition to the game?

Yeah that would be really cool. From what I gather, the EB creators made the game to where everything is left up to chance. That being said, when the game starts, the factions in the map are represented as they were in real life during that time. Everything else from then on is up to you and the game. Maybe one of the battles agains Spartacus could be used as a historic battle.
He used vesuvius as a camp right?
Imagine if it had gone up 130 years early, wiping out the camp, no slave wouild revolt again, Crassus may have lined the road with them, but if Vulcan himself nailed them...

I had it in the teeth in RTW vanilla; 3 Yubtseb elephants units + urban cohorts and bastarnae. Ugly. Stupid. I learned about EB and switched since.
Let a couple of large cities revolt after the marian reform, you'll see. :idea2:

I wouldn't mind a Large Gladiator Revolt event happening in Italy if certain conditions were met though. Kinda like the Yuehzi on the west side of the map.

Seens a great idea! Spartacus could be spawned with a huge army inside Italy!

I think that the EB team will never do this because EB its not Rome oriented like vannilla.
If they did it they had to do all the other large rebelions in all other factions in the time frame: and they are just too many to be made.
Sry for the bad english.

Well, not Sparticus. It would be more like: Have X amount of large colloseum and have lots of shows and enslave lots of cities = gladiator rebellion in Italy or atleast something in the western side of the map.

The Servile Wars were not "Gladiator rebellions". And these will be included to some extent through dynamic events in EB II.

Yeah! The Social war would be interesting too, thought I'm not exactly familiar with that conflict.

While the Yuehzi is on the east, the sentence actually means that there should be an event like the Yuehzi should happen on the west.
