Hey all, I was just wondering is the pope election based strictly on popular vote or is there some hidden electoral system put in place..? ;) Any ways, here's a screen of the past election in my game, and I was wondering if anyone knew why 6 votes lose to 5.

A bug no doubt. Fortunately, I have not experienced it myself.
Unfortunately, you just have to continue like that. Besides, you won't gain much by putting your Pope on the throne.
Congratulation, now you can be fully HRE!
I don't care about what happened in Rome, I just crush Venice and Milan. That's how you should be HRE, in my opinion. Install the new Pope if you don't like the one in Rome...

Well the only thing of note that I can discern from the pic is the HRE had 2 factions voting for it as opposed to 4 factions for the winner. that shouldnt matter, but worthy of note.

I guess he will pack his bags and head over to Scotland since the Scots had two votes for him.

Same. I don't know what you get anyhow if you put your own pope on the throne?
Nothing, just the feeling that Rome deserve it :D

The pope goes walkies, in one of my games i took rome and the pope would randomly appear on a boat near ikralion and land just to be killed off by me and then replaced with the same thing happening again and again
