Hi guys!
I don't know if this may be considered a bug or not but I'm having real troubles with assasins in my sauromatae campaing.
They have killed at least 10 of my characters near Gabai, Susa and Persepolis and I can't advance any further due to lack of a reliable heavy cavalry unit. (not to mention that I can't raise mercenaries as I would like to).
So....:
1º Does anyone finds assasins way too overpowered?
2º How can I counter react them? Making assasins and spies foloow my armies, right?
3º Can I decrease their lethality modding the files? can you point out how?
Thanks for your replies.

An experienced general shouldn't have anything to worry about with assassins, but young guys are easy targets. Spies will make the job very hard for enemy assassins, so you are having problems bring a couple spies with your army. Also, you can make your own assassins. Enemy assassins rarely target your assassins, but enemy assassins are some of the easiest targets to assassinate. Just kill they troublesome guys.

1 we haven't modded the usage or the lethality of the assasins. There are more traits for them most noticeable the "untrained" trait. It is used by all agents and prevents them from being usefull until they have stayed in a settelment for some turns to get the "trained" trait. However the AI send all agents directly into the field which makes them die more easily, but sometimes they are able to "train them in the field" to be rather good killers (I have recently lost both Hamilkar Barcas and Xanthippus to the blade of some Roman assasin)
2 if you add spys/assasins to your armys it will be much harder for the the ki assasins to kill them. The same rule applis for diplomats, if you add them to your army they will make bribe attemps of the ai more likely to fail (this is really needed if you have characters who are good generals but have a low loyality).
Characters with high influence (mostly old ones) are harder to get killed by an assasin than characters with low influence (mostly young ones).

1. Actually i think they're very underpower'd , even with max skill stars they've still got trouble assasinating experienced faction members , and least to say they always have a very slim chance to kill faction leaders. However considering your situation its very rare that enemy assasins become so lethal. All your generals must have been young , or the AI must have been very lucky unfortunely.
2. Keep a spy in your army , it always works.
