Ok so recently I decided to go back and reinstall EB only to be happily surprised that it had been updated (since the last time when I was playing 8.0) so I install RTW (a newer version thats already updated to 1.5) and install EB saving it to C:\program files\activision\rome - total war after it gets installed I excitingly press the EB shortcut only to be dissapointed by the dreaded "missing shortcut" message. so I'm wondering if anyone can help me out, I already searched for this with no success, I am a big fan of EB and I really want to start playing again so any help would be appreciated.

Assuming you did install it to the right directory(one variation is The creative assembly and SEGA) all you have to do is right click the shorcut, and select the RTW.exe from the list) :)

well at one point when it was searching it gave me the option to "fix" the shortcut but than all it did was start up RTW vanilla.
You have installed EB in the wrong folder, no way around it.
*Uninstall EB.
*right-click your vanilla RTW shortcut, select properties or whatever it's called in your language.
*There are a couple of fields in the window that appears. Select the whole value of the Start in field, copy with Ctrl-C.
*Paste this into Notepad for future reference.
*Start the EB installer
*When it asks you where to install, copy the stuff from Notepad and paste into the installer.

I installed it under my RTW folder, I guess I could give it another go but after uninstalling and reinstalling 4 times it's starting to feel hopeless :shame:

I did what you said and I think it's working now, thank you so much you're a good person.
Edit* I also like what you all did with the water on the Campaign Map
